Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. Luke is currently in a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Luke is a possible Lab Mix and is around 1 1/2 years old (November 21) and 50-55 pounds -He, 3 other puppies, and a Mama dog were dumped on a bridge outside of Tishomingo in August 2024. He was 6-8 weeks old. -Like every other puppy, energetic, funny, friendly, and loves belly rubs! -Loves to be around other dogs. He does love to rough house. -Has been to several local events and has done well with adults and kids -Tested with cats, seemed more scared of them than anything. -Leash and crate trained -He is not housebroken, but we are sure he can learn quickly. Ringo is currently at a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well.
