Meet Lilac! Just as her namesake flower symbolizes new beginnings, Lilac’s story is one of a fresh start. Found abandoned in the community, Lilac came to HSDC extremely timid and unsure. Her affectionate and curious nature won out, and she quickly melted into the warmth of human love. Lilac is a little ray of sunshine! If her foster humans so much as look in her direction, Lilac eagerly approaches them for pets and snuggles (and will gladly fill any empty lap with her whole self). She will easily convince you to stop everything and snuggle with her intense, deep golden eyes and bright personality shown through twists and shifts of her floppy ears. Lilac’s tail also traces arcs of love through the air, constantly wagging with affectionate approval. Lilac will run zoomies around the yard, loves to play with animals her size (cats and dogs alike), and is comfortable with bigger dogs too. She does well in both calm and loud environments and with young children. She can still be cautious when meeting new people, showing her nervousness in her body language. However, she is quick to make friends and build trust, and given her young age and with continued patience and love, Lilac is sure to grow even more into the confidence she is already beginning to show. Lilac is a true sweetheart who will eagerly fill any home with joy and endless love!

Meet Jessie, a 72-pound bundle of beauty and bounce estimated to be around 6 years old. With her stunning gray coat and expressive personality, she turns heads without even trying. Jessie can be vocal when she wants something, especially if that something is your attention. She loves scratches from her favorite people and will lean her whole body into you, as if trying to get just a little closer. She walks well on leash and truly enjoys being near her humans. Though she was initially timid when she arrived, she quickly learned that kindness is consistent here. Watching her confidence grow has been such a bright spot. Jessie is affectionate, engaging, and ready to pour all that love into a family of her own.
