Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi new friends, Amory here!     I'm a nine-year-old pit mix. I may be considered "older", but you'd never know it when meeting me. I love walks around the neighborhood, car rides, and going to new places...all the things! As long as I'm with my people, I'm happy. I also LOVE to snuggle. Movie time is my favorite, and if I can snuggle up next to you and sleep, I’m in heaven!    I’m crate trained, house trained, and I'm a pro with the doggy door. My foster parents say that after a couple of weeks of adjusting, I'll be just fine left out in my new home while my family is away. I just snuggle up on the couch or a dog bed for a nice nap until my people return.     I’m good with other dogs and really love little dogs. I will even play tug with other dogs or run around the yard to play when they want. I'm pretty content doing whatever the other dogs in the house enjoy! Oh, and did I mention that I love kids? I think they're so fun! My foster mom says I'm too interested in cats and should probably live without them, but otherwise, I'm as close to perfect as they come!    As I mentioned, I’m in great health for my age and like other senior dogs, I just need a joint supplement to keep my body in good shape. If you could give a sweet senior girl a nice, cozy place to retire, a few toys and bones, and so much love, please apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 2:46 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This beautiful boy is Perigee.  Perigee needs a special family that will work with his special needs.  Perigee has Mega Esophagus.  If you haven't heard of this condition, then read on:   Megaesophagus is mouthful of a name for a rare condition that affects dogs, cats, and humans too! Those in the know refer to it as “ME” or “Mega E” and many are passionate about spreading the word to help pet owners and potential adopters understand that megaesophagus can be managed and dogs can lead fairly normal lives with ME.  Read on to find out more about ME and see if you’re one of the compassionate adopters who are willing to incorporate the routine of a homeless Mega E Baby into your home! So what is megaesophagus? “Megaesophagus refers to a syndrome in which the esophagus becomes weak and flaccid, and subsequently becomes much larger than normal, hence the term megaesophagus. A pet with ME needs the help of gravity to transport food to their stomach after they eat. They don’t throw up, but rather regurgitate their food before it reaches their stomach. While for many pets there is no cure, there are proven management techniques that help many ME dogs and their owners enjoy long and happy lives together! Depending on the type and severity of the ME, owners figure out if and which medications and feeding routines will help the most. One of the more popular – and quite adorable – techniques is the use of a “Bailey Chair” to help an ME pup stay upright. Above you can see a photo of adorable Perigee sitting in his chair just chillin after his dinner!  ” Perigee is very well managed.  His foster mom has found a tried-and-true routine that works wonderfully for him.  He takes three medications and eats his food in a Bailey Chair.  Other than that, he lives a normal puppy life.  He really loves his people and will never let them get lonely.  He will follow you everywhere!  He currently has three furry foster brothers and does well with all of them.  He can be kind of annoying to the little five-pound guy but would never hurt him.  He loves toys and to play.  He is very social and loves meeting all the new people and dogs.  Often you will find him with a ball or a toy, playing all by himself and having a wonderful time.  Perigee is about 7 or 8 months old and now weighs around 30 pounds.  He will probably be 35 to 40 pounds once he is full grown.  He is crate trained and loves to be in it.  He is potty trained as long as you look for his cues to go out.  (Foster family has a potty pad by the door and if no one notices him, he goes on the pad).  We don't really know his breed, but thinking maybe some kind of a boxer mix.  He is very curious and inquisitive and will help you with whatever you are doing.  He is very smart and would really do well with some formal training.  Perigee loves being outside, going for walks and would be a great adventure buddy.  He also loves cuddling in next to you for a good movie or just a rest on the couch.  This brave boy, fought off Parvo already in his short life and has fought off a bout of pneumonia too.  He really wants to be here and deserves a great family that is willing to help him do just that.  If you may be the kind, loving and compassionate family that wants to give Perigee a chance, then please go to  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication  and fill out an application to meet him.  You won't be sorry!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 2:46 pm
