Story
Hi there, I'm Moises - like Moses, but instead of parting seas, I part hearts with my big soulful eyes and wobbly little walk. I'm a 10-year-old, 95 pound Chesapeake Bay Retriever with the wisdom of a senior and the spirit of a sweet old soul. Sure, my legs aren't as spry as they used to be (I like to call it my "Moises shuffle"),but I'm a gentle, polite guy who enjoys the simple things: quiet company, soft pets, and a comfy spot to nap. I'll gladly lean in for love. I'm looking for a peaceful home where I can spend my golden years as your loyal shadow. Let's cross the Red Sea of loneliness together - I promise, I'm worth the exodus.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots program*Qualifies for Senior to Senior programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Silver Weight: 93.3 Age: 10yrs 9mths 0wks

Story
Jack Jack is a 10-year 66.8 pound magnificent brindle color hound lab mix. He became a part of CAWS family recently rescued from a life spent behind a warehouse year round in a dog house with straw. We are so extremely thankful to have this hunk of a gentleman as part of our pack. He got a bath the next day in his new foster home. We immediately got him to the vet where he had blood work done, a neuter and badly needed dental with numerous teeth extracted. He has no known medical issues, thank the stars! Much to our delight he is totally house trained but he gets let out regularly. He loves company of the other furkids in his foster home, male and female, big and small. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He didn’t know what it meant that he could actually lay his tired and precious body on a soft, warm bed and actually be inside the house, but we went ever so slow with him and coaxed him to lay his handsome head and body on a bed and even join everyone else on the couch, whew. Jack Jack is literally has a striking and irresistible presence, you can’t not help but just want to be in his presence, cuddle and pet him and play with his beautiful ears, sigh. He is safe and secure now, patiently waiting for an remarkable family to welcome him to his new furever home he can call his own, with unconditional love. Jack Jack lounges in his open-door crate or on the couch. He rides wonderfully in the car, has his own fold up ramp so he can easily get in and out of the car. At this time of his life Jack Jack needs to go to a home with a backyard, a couple stairs max, preferably 2-legged people who work from home or are retired, but he can totally be trusted in the home alone, older responsible children. He will need occasional brushings or a spa day to stay good-looking. If you are looking for a glorious chap to be an unconditional friend, please make arrangements for a meet and greet.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $100. Story
Meet Daisy Daisy is a beautiful 5 year old yellow Lab mix with a heart every bit as golden as her fur. She adores her people and truly thrives when she is part of the family. With kids, she is especially sweet and gentle. She is patient, affectionate, and always ready for a game of fetch followed by a cozy couch snuggle.Daisy is happiest in a calm, predictable home. Loud commotion and sudden movements can make her nervous, and when she feels overwhelmed she may respond by getting a little nippy. With thoughtful guidance, structure, and an environment that helps her feel safe, Daisy relaxes into the loving, loyal companion she naturally is.She has lived peacefully with cats and does great with them. With other dogs, Daisy is selective and benefits from slow, structured introductions. Even with the best introductions, Daisy can get overstimulated and aggressive with dogs. She will stay below threshold most of the time but sometimes a dog gets too close to her food or human and she gets aggressive. She does best with respectful dogs who understand personal space and good dog manners. A thoughtful match will help her feel confident and secure.Daisy is nearly house trained and eager to continue learning. More than anything, she wants to belong. If you are looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who will bond deeply with her family, Daisy is ready to give you her whole heart. To meet Daisy, please complete an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Story
Meet Harry Pawter, a 12 month old Labrador Retriever with a big heart and lots of personality. He came into UAAF’s care after being hit by a car, resulting in a broken leg and a lightning bolt shaped mark on his head (yes, Harry Pawter). He has since recovered beautifully from surgery and is now healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. Harry is an energetic, playful young dog who loves walks and is especially fond of playing fetch. He would do best in an active home that can give him plenty of exercise and engagement. He’s smart and eager to learn, already knowing sit, shake, and food placement, and he’s currently learning down. Continued training will help him build confidence, especially with his separation anxiety and kennel skills. A home where someone works from home or is around often would be ideal. Harry adores children and does best with kids ages 7 and up due to his size and energy. While playful, he’s also a total love bug who enjoys snuggling and being close to his people. He hasn’t been tested with cats but has shown calm curiosity around guinea pigs. Harry is doing well on sensitive stomach food and is ready to bring love, fun, and companionship to the right family. Harry has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Harry, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). For more information, call/text 801-467-8610 or email svalentine46@gmail.com.
