Story
Hi, I'm Oakley! I have so much love to share and loads of energy to match. My happy place is in the great outdoors where I can run and play with my favorite people and my favorite toys. I'm a loyal guy! I promise that once I get to know you, I'll love you unconditionally. I can get overwhelmed when meeting new people, especially men in hats. I learn best from strong corrections and would thrive with an owner who is eager to further my training so I can be my best self. I can't wait to find my forever home. If it could be with you, come meet me!

Story
An adventure buddy for the PNW! Meet Angel! Angel is located in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue section). “Fur-st Impressions” are very important! Schedule a meet and greet with Angel before applying to see if she is the perfect fit for your family by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com.  A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Angel’s adoption. Angel has been available for months, and potential adopters often have concerns about adult rescue dogs having behavior issues or being poorly socialized. Some dogs just get overlooked and the longer a dog is available, the more people start wondering, “what is wrong with this dog?” We understand this is a concern, and that is why we assign every applicant their own personal Matchmaker to ensure this dog is right for your family. Angel embodies her name. This sweet natured, goofy, loving pup was made for companionship and will bring joy into your life. She is extremely loyal to her person and cherishes cuddles. And if you want a pal for adventuring outdoors, Angel is your gal! Angel is up for any adventure; a good run, water sports, a family hike, camping, chilling in the backyard on a sunny day, a rainy day spent watching Netflix; you name it, she’s game.  Curious and active, Angel loves car rides, walks where she can sniff and engage her brain, and sun baths in the warm afternoons (she’s a rescue from Texas, so she relishes the heat).  Funny Angel has ears with minds of their own that flap adorably when she runs. She loves to end her day with some toys or food puzzles and snuggles with her favorite people. An older dog, Angel has many skills in place already. She is crate trained and house trained, walks well on her leash, and she sleeps through the night. Angel has her obedience commands nailed. She loves treats and food puzzles. Angel adores older kids but would prefer to be a solo pet companion. Angel’s ideal home?  One with people to love who love her and share in her enjoyment of being active in the outdoors. Someone to ensure she practices the skills that make her a well-rounded and happy dog. Lots of cuddles and pets, spots for sun bathing, and toys. Some older kids to share her life would be delightful, too. Affectionate and loyal, Angel has a lot of love to give and tons of joy to bring into your life. If you are looking for the perfect canine pal to explore the PNW with then curl up for some warm cuddles, Angel is your girl! Angel is a lovable sweetheart with a few quirks that have benefited from training.  We will waive the $450 minimum adoption donation for adopters who agree to attend training with one of our Preferred Training Partners to learn how to set her up for success in her new home. What is Path of Hope’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!). Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family. (The process may differ slightly for long distance adopters.) Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process. Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs one year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250.  Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.   About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.   ##1417697##

More than meets the eye! Meet Squawkbox! Squawkbox is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). “Fur-st Impressions” are very important! Schedule a meet and greet with Squawkbox before applying to see if he is the perfect fit for your family by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com.  A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Squawkbox’s adoption.  Squawkbox has been available for months, and potential adopters often have concerns about adult rescue dogs having behavior issues or being poorly socialized. Some dogs just get overlooked and the longer a dog is available, the more people start wondering, “what is wrong with this dog?” We understand this is a concern, and that is why we assign every applicant their own personal Matchmaker to ensure this dog is right for your family. Squawkbox may take his name from a Decepticon in the Transformers lore, but this loyal pup is one of the good guys. Goofy, cuddly, smart, loving, and playful, Squawkbox lives to be with his people and to please them. Squawkbox loves to sleep by you or on you. Cuddling isn't always good enough; sometimes, he will get up and just flop across you.  Belly rubs and back scratches? Yes, please! Add in a game of fetch and a walk, and he will be your friend and protector for life. Squawkbox does well with other dogs, but he needs a home without kids. We would cat test him with any felines you might have in your home. There’s more to this dog than meets the eye! Squawkbox has had extensive obedience training (courtesy of one of his fosters, Courtney of Courtney’s Canine College), and this smart boy has all the skills: come, sit, stay, down, shake, spin, speak, whisper, dance, and place. His heel and leash walking are on point (he is a joy to walk) and his recall is exemplary – he may be the best trained dog we have had in the rescue. He loves to work and enjoys training; it is a fun game for him. Squawkbox is even trained to walk on a treadmill! Squawkbox had developed an undesirable habit of getting worked up when new people entered the house. This is where that amazing training comes into play. When greeting new people, Squawkbox is directed to his 'place' and given time to calm down. After a few minutes in his designated “place”, he will be ready to greet anyone with full body wiggles! Squawkbox’s ideal home? An active adult one, where he would get lots of fetch games, walks, and cuddles and love. An adopter willing to continue and reinforce his training to ensure he has the skills that will make him a well-rounded dog. A home where he can let his goofy, playful, exuberant, and confident nature shine and embrace his people with all his heart.  Squawkbox is a lovable sweetheart who will require training with his new adopter to help with his quirks (and to make the most of those skills he has!). We know that quality training can be a costly investment, so to help alleviate that cost, we are waiving our normal $450 minimum adoption donation so you can put that towards training instead. What is Path of Hope’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Begin by completing the online application.
