FOSTER NEEDED! Momma needs your help! This precious little senior Chihuahua is 9 years old; and she has tested heart worm positive. Momma needs a foster while she is undergoing heart worm treatment. We will need a foster for her for 3-6 months. This little sweetheart is well behaved, gentle, and is a cuddly little girl. She weighs 13 pounds so she is a small girl. We will provide everything you need--food, bedding, crate, and we will pay for the heart worm treatments. She would be fine with children. Momma is good with most dogs but if you have another dog, we would require you to bring your dog in for a meet & greet with Momma. If you think you can help Momma out, please call us between 11-4 at 334-358-2882. We really need a foster for Momma as soon as possible. Even if you can't foster--please share to help us find the perfect foster home for Momma.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  January 30, 2026, 7:36 am

Story
Meet Skipper! ❤️ Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a whoot. 😂 As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! 🐾 Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience. When they are together, if they see other fur babies they get really excited and like to bark. Which is probably, how they survived on their own for so long as a way to protect themselves being so small and older. Even though Skipper eventually warms up to new dogs, it takes a while, and he would probably be happiness as an only dog in his next home. Skipper is very much loved in his foster home. Thus, only the most perfect of home him will he grace. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. 💙 Meet Big! 💙 Big may be small in size, but this 10-year-old Chihuahua has a huge amount of love to give. He’s a true gentleman—sweet, polite, and perfectly potty-pad trained (though he’ll also happily go outside if he has the option). He’s a sensitive soul who just needs a little time to warm up, but once he feels safe, he’ll gently place his head in your hand, asking for love and pets. He also has the most endearing crooked bottom lip that makes him extra kissable. 💋 If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be loved, Big might be your perfect match. ✨ Adoption fee: $200 (includes neuter, vaccines, parasite prevention, and microchip) 📍 Apply to adopt at: www.fullcirclerescueandsanctuary.com
