Story
Spike was wandering around our neighborhood for ~3 days, and many neighbors tried to catch him and figure out who his potential owners were. One night, we heard him crying on our front porch. We let him in the house and took him to the garage. He was scared and had fleas. We treated his fleas and took him to the vet. He got a rabies shot, his nails trimmed, and we put him on NexGard Plus. The vet estimated he’s 2 yrs old. He is very sweet and cuddly. He is uninterested in our newborn and 2 cats. He is not mean towards them at all (mostly ignores them). He will sleep and lay in his crate with the door open but does not like the crate door closed. He does not seem to be housebroken. He has separation anxiety and cries a lot when separated from me. I do not have the bandwidth to desensitize him from the separation anxiety as I’m focused on my newborn and preparing to return to work. He needs a dedicated owner to housebreak him and work on his separation anxiety. He would be worth it!

Story
When Gizmo first arrived at the refuge, he was scared, unsure, and quick to use his teeth to tell us he needed space. The busy shelter life just wasn’t for him, so he went to a loving foster home—and what a difference that made! Now, Gizmo has done a complete 180. He’s a fast learner who already knows sit, down, and stay. He walks beautifully on leash, sleeps quietly through the night in his crate (though his foster thinks he’s earned a spot on the bed), and has discovered how much he loves cuddles. He’ll gently rest his little paws on your knees to ask for pets. Gizmo gets along wonderfully with the other two Chihuahuas in his foster home and is an easy, low-maintenance companion. He still barks a bit at new people, so slow introductions work best. When he first arrived, he marked indoors and wore a belly band, but that’s greatly improved with time and consistency. His foster says she absolutely adores him—and it’s easy to see why. Gizmo is ready to find his forever person who will give him the same patience, love, and understanding that helped him blossom.

Story
Myrtle is a sweet senior Chihuahua with a tender heart and a story of resilience. She came from a hoarding situation with over 50 dogs, and despite her difficult past, she’s slowly learning what it means to feel safe and loved. Myrtle isn’t reactive to other dogs and would do well in a calm home where she can observe, adjust, and grow at her own pace. She’s looking for a patient, compassionate person who can help her discover the comforts of a loving home—soft beds, gentle voices, and kind hands. With time and care, Myrtle will reward that love with trust, gratitude, and the quiet companionship only a senior dog can give.

Story
Meet Jocelyn – A Quiet Soul with a Gentle Spirit Jocelyn is a tender, independent little dog who’s still learning to trust and feel comfortable in a home environment. She prefers not to be touched yet, but her foster describes her as very sweet and easy to live with—almost like not even having a dog. She enjoys her routines and will politely remind her people when dinner is running late with a few barks. Jocelyn is partially potty trained and typically uses a potty pad indoors. Her favorite pastime is finding a sunny spot by the window to nap and watch the world go by. At night, she likes to rest in her bed beside her foster’s, finding comfort in quiet companionship. If her foster gets up, Jocelyn will often dart away, showing that she still needs time and patience to build confidence. Jocelyn is looking for a calm, understanding home that will give her the space and security she needs to continue coming out of her shell. With gentle care and consistency, she’ll thrive in her own quiet, special
