Story
Hemlock is a small but mighty survivor who came from a hoarding situation with over 50 dogs. Despite his rough start, he’s shown incredible spirit and sweetness as he learns what it means to live in a loving home. Hemlock is an absolute gentleman with a one-of-a-kind look, resembling a delightful blend of French Bulldog, Jack Russell, and Chihuahua. While he isn’t overly energetic, he enjoys playtime—especially if squeaky toys are involved. He rarely barks; in fact, the only time you’ll hear his voice is when someone approaches the door. Even then, he remains calm and unfazed by the barking of neighboring dogs. Hemlock does have a keen eye for wildlife. Birds in the sky immediately catch his attention, and squirrels in the yard are put on notice—though they always escape by racing along the fence toward the trees. He absolutely adores being outdoors and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard. On chilly days, he efficiently takes care of business and happily bounces back to the door, his playful run guaranteed to bring a smile. He has what’s known as “shaky dog syndrome,” which gives him a little tremble now and then, but it doesn’t slow him down or dampen his happy outlook. He’s house trained and will thrive with patience, consistency, and kindness. Hemlock would be a wonderful companion for an anyone looking for a loyal, affectionate dog with a strong desire to please.

Story
Myrtle is a sweet senior Chihuahua with a tender heart and a story of resilience. She came from a hoarding situation with over 50 dogs, and despite her difficult past, she’s slowly learning what it means to feel safe and loved. This tiny girl has a heart murmur and will need lifelong medication, but she takes it in stride and continues to show quiet strength every day. Myrtle isn’t reactive to other dogs and would do well in a calm home where she can observe, adjust, and grow at her own pace. She’s looking for a patient, compassionate person who can help her discover the comforts of a loving home—soft beds, gentle voices, and kind hands. With time and care, Myrtle will reward that love with trust, gratitude, and the quiet companionship only a senior dog can give.

Story
Meet Jocelyn – A Quiet Soul with a Gentle Spirit Jocelyn is a tender, independent little dog who’s still learning to trust and feel comfortable in a home environment. She prefers not to be touched yet, but her foster describes her as very sweet and easy to live with—almost like not even having a dog. She enjoys her routines and will politely remind her people when dinner is running late with a few barks. Jocelyn is partially potty trained and typically uses a potty pad indoors. Her favorite pastime is finding a sunny spot by the window to nap and watch the world go by. At night, she likes to rest in her bed beside her foster’s, finding comfort in quiet companionship. If her foster gets up, Jocelyn will often dart away, showing that she still needs time and patience to build confidence. Jocelyn is looking for a calm, understanding home that will give her the space and security she needs to continue coming out of her shell. With gentle care and consistency, she’ll thrive in her own quiet, special
