Luella was nearly full term in her pregnancy when she was abandoned at a local animal shelter. The shelter contacted us and we quickly sent one of our volunteers to pick her up. Luella spent several weeks in a foster home where she gave birth to two tiny puppies. Her puppies have long since been adopted, however Luella has yet to find her forever home. Now almost 3 1/2 years old, this small shy Chihuahua mix prefers the company of women and is fearful of men. Luella would do best in a quiet home with someone that is home most of the day. An independent pup, she just needs to know you are near, not fond of being picked up or cuddled. Give her a good meal and a warm bed and she is perfectly content. Most of her day is spent just following you around the house or taking naps. The perfect roommate, she will listen to your troubles for hours and never complain. Luella is housebroken and enjoys having a fenced-in backyard she can explore. She had access to a doggy door in her foster home and enjoyed the freedom of being able to come and go as she pleased. Luella can be snippy with other dogs, but does do well with cats. If you’re looking for a small quiet companion that is easy to care for, Luella would be a good choice. This got Keno seen by an amazing woman who wanted to help. It was the park manager, she was able to keep Keno fed as he stuck around a couple months due to his new girlfriend, and the manager worked on earning his trust.It finally happened, he walked right into her arms. She quickly took him into her office and called us. Of course his little girlfriend followed. Lucky in love is what we call this rescue We are so grateful that little Keno is safe and so is his girlfriend Roulette (Roo)Everyone took a gamble and hit the jackpot on the rescue life! We are so very grateful for the park manager she never gave up on him and his little girlfriend. Keno was vetted, he tested negative for heartworms, he is microchiped, and has a linked geotag. He is also neutered, current on all preventions and current on vaccines. We aged this little 13lb guy at around 8 or 9 months old.Keno is sweet, loving and playful. He is dog and cat friendly.
