Story
Peanut is 7 years young, 21lbs, and has a lot of get up and go! She loves, loves, loves to go on walks and gets so excited when her harness and leash come out. She also loves to go for car rides and likes to look out of the window or stare adoringly at her human. Peanuts favorite place in the home is on the back of the sofa, looking out of the picture window, watching the world go by. She is an agile little girl, even though she is still a little plump. She has been taught to use ramps so she doesn't hurt herself jumping down. Peanut is a shy dog on first meeting and gets a little nervous if you reach out to her before she is ready. If you are patient and sit down, she will come to you. Once she knows you are safe, she will then start pestering you for pets and cuddles. She warms up pretty quickly if you take her for a walk first. Peanut does have special needs. She came into rescue with a bladder full of stones. She has since had surgery to remove them. However, to prevent them recurring she will need to be on a special diet for life. She will also require a vet visit once a year. Fortunately she likes the food and she doesn't eat much. 1/2 cup a day. Peanut is good with other dogs and cats. We do not recommend her in a home with small children as their fast and eratic movements will scare her. She would be great for someone who wants a lap dog, but still enjoys a brisk walk or two a day. Someone who will make sure she stays on her diet. Peanut is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is potty trained and knows how to use a dog door. She is a quiet dog, although if her BFF Tiki starts to bark at a noise its possible she will join in to show her support. Story
Say hello to Helsinki! His litter was born on December 24, 2023. Momma was a 15 lb Chihuahua so he is expected to stay small. Denver is very sweet and playful. He loves playing with toys and his foster siblings. He also is doing great with his foster kitty sibling. He is patiently awaiting the chance to bring happiness and love to his future forever family. He is young enough to adjust to any family and any other pets. He exudes a sweetness and playfulness that is truly heartwarming. He is diligently working on his potty training. His playful antics never fail to bring a smile to our faces. Helsinki is being fostered in Scappoose, OR and is available for meet and greets with potential adopters. He has completed his puppy vaccines and is ready to go to his forever home. If you are interested in welcoming one of these precious puppies into your home, please visit our website for more information on the adoption process and to submit an application at www.springbranchrescue.org. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future from a city that has an animal crisis.  We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wondering our streets.  So many have been dumped and cannot find their way home.  Many never even had a home and were born on the streets.  WE gave them a chance.  Every animal deserves a chance.  If we are based in Houston, then how can you see our posts? We have fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. We do not have a physical shelter. All of our adoptable pets are living with local foster families which will make the transition into your household a whole lot easier.  We have been doing this since 2019 and very successful.   Please take a look at our adopters reviews https://greatnonprofits.org/org/spring-branch-rescue.   ##1961489##
