Story
This is Vaquita. This lil' tater tot weighs about 8 pounds, is eight years old, is spayed and is currently living in a foster home. To adopt Vaquita, the first step is to email us at pets@michianapets.org and request an application. Here is a little bit about her from her foster mom... "This sweet girl is missing her human papa (her original owner became sick and could no longer keep her), so please give her a couple of days to get comfy and adjust to another new life. Once she is acclimated, she is a friendly gal who delights in the comfort of her heated crate and she loves belly rubs. She does not mind other little dogs as long as they give her her space. She typically just minds her own business. She hasn't been super playful yet but we haven't had her very long, either. Vaquita is fully house-trained and does her business in this frigid cold weather like a good girl. I would keep her if I did not already have two foster fails! I am sure with some active fur-parents or some springtime walkies that she will find her inner swimsuit body again! She has a few pounds to shed; please consult your vet along the way! She recently had about 10 teeth pulled! Even with having teeth gone, she is still a perfect 10 in our eyes!" -Vaquita's foster mom. Vaquita asks for a home without kitty friends. Kiddos in the home should be about 8ish and older. We'd love for whoever adopts Vaquita to understand she is still learning how to share food nicely. She may prefer to be fed separately to make her most comfortable. Vaquita has done great with other small dogs but is asking that any resident dog allows her her space when she is asking for it. She's a gal who likes to be social but then values her alone time.

Story
Angel is a very loving dog she is a bit shy, but she loves attention. She is not a very hyper dog she's very mellow chilled so I think that she would be in a home that's good for a kid that's a bit older I think if she's around little kids she'll be scared. She is a deer head chihuahua she's 3 years old she used to be my mom's dog but my mom was unable to care for her so I took her in but because of the dogs that I already have I'm not able to really give her the attention that she needs.

Story
Meet Muppet. She is a sweet little senior girl! she was dumped at a local shelter due to the fact that she had a lot of health problems. Chihuahua rescue took care of all of her health problems. She is now ready for adoption. She gets along fine with other dogs older kids would be OK. The foster home does not have cats, but I think with her personality she would be fine with a friendly cat, if they’re looking for a little cuddle, buddy, please consider adopting a senior

Story
Please read the entire description before applying.  Meet Willa ( and her brother is Walker ) These two tiny pups weigh just 8 lbs at 3 1/2 months old. They are Chihuahua, Dachshund, and Jack Russell mixes who were surrendered to a shelter by a breeder after an unexpected litter. Their estimated adult weight is under 25 lbs. We originally took in eight puppies from this litter, and all of their littermates have already been adopted. We’re now working to make room for the next dogs who urgently need rescue, which is why we’ve lowered this puppy’s adoption fee to $350. This amount barely covers our expenses, but it helps us keep saying yes to the dogs on our waiting list. Walker and Willa love being held and adored. They are being raised in a caring foster home where they receive daily socialization and plenty of human interaction. Because of the cold weather, they’ve also been trained to use a litter box, which can make those first few days at home a little easier. Adoption Requirements:  A fencedin backyard suitable for a small dog (no invisible fences). If your condo or HOA does not allow fencing, we may consider your application on a casebycase basis. An adult who is home during the day and able to provide the time, supervision, and companionship a puppy needs.” No crating for puppies. Adopters must use a puppy playpen, which provides a safe, contained space with room to move and reduces stress. We will share recommended options once your application is approved. Children in the home must be 7 years or older. Younger children may be considered if they have grown up with a dog in the household. Homes with no dogs or a small dog will be considered (no multidog households). All puppies are vetchecked, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and have received heartworm and flea preventatives and are spayed/neutered.  We require a $50 deposit to place a hold on a puppy once your application is approved. This helps prevent noshows and lastminute cancellations, since preparing a puppy for an adoption appointment requires coordination with our foster homes. Your deposit is fully refundable if you attend your scheduled appointment, meet the puppy, and decide not to adopt. This policy ensures fairness to all approved adopters and helps us manage our time and foster resources responsibly. To adopt, please complete an online application on our website by clicking the "Adopt" button under the puppy's photo. www.indianasaveadog.com.    ##2626138##
