Story
This beautiful baby came into us from a neglect situation. She and six companions were dumped in a rural area. The matting and neglect was very sad. The Fast and the Furiest came to the rescue and groomed these babies and then helped transport them to the Humane Society. They are all very sweet and seem to have been loved once upon a time. We can't be sure what hard times fell upon their family, but they are now looking for a new family to love and call their own!   If you would like to meet any of our pets, they are available for viewing, every single day from noon until 3:30pm. Calling before a long drive is recommended to confirm availability. Ripley County Humane Society, 1202 W County Rd 150 N, Osgood, IN 47037. 812-689-3773  You can fill out an application online at this link - https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57789/generic . ##2446835##

Story
Update 7/12/2024: Sharky has finally learned how to be a dog. He plays with his foster brothers and sisters, he jumps around and gets excited when his foster parents come home, He does still get scared over loud noises I.e. thunderstorms that rock the house, Fireworks so during those times he will need a blanket and somewhere to hide close to you. He still doesn't really like being picked up but rolls over to get belly rubs. He is crate trained and has been doing well outdoor potty, for those times that might be missed he is potty pad trained. He is very much ready for his future adventures with a great family that has older kids that know boundaries because he is very scared of children due to how he was allowed to be treated by them. He is a great companion to go on short distance walks, and watch tv next to his favorite person. He likes to sleep in the bed with his foster but does not crowd her out. UPDATE 11/21: He is so sweet and just needs an understanding parent. He needs a quiet home with a physical fenced in yard due to fear. NO KIDS, he is terrified of them. His fosters have figured out how he is okay with getting picked up so he can be picked up now (big improvement). He enjoys the kisses his foster mom gives him on his neck, every chance he gets he will go to her reach out his head to expose his neck wanting kisses. He has made huge milestones while being with his fosters he knows how to dog now YAY! He is crate trained. Sharky was a stray at a shelter in IN. when we pulled him. He has not had a good beginning or treated properly. He is terrified of being picked up or having his neck touched. Overall, he is so sweet with a charming underbite. After a couple of weeks, I can now slowly pick him up talking to him the whole time. I do avoid touching his neck right now, however he did tolerate a harness. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs. Application: https://form.jotform.com/FredsMission/app

Story
Do you want a small dog companion but NOT a lap dog? Do you want a dog who will run from you rather than towards you? Do you want a dog who prefers the company of other dogs over you? Well then I have got the perfect dog for you!! Please give a warm welcome to Clementine! In all seriousness, she is an adorable little girl. Clementine came to Hart in June 2021 and has been in the same foster home ever since. She with so many others was rescued from a hoarding situation in Tennessee. To this day, she still exhibits nervousness around people. For this reason, she is looking for a very special adopter. The adopter will need to be very patient with her and give her ample time to show her brand of affection. While she still runs from me if I try to approach her to pet her, she does make her way over to me at bedtime for lovings. She will even sleep in bed with me and give me some sweet kisses. But when it’s time to get up, she darts away again. I truly can’t explain it but I have learned to accept it. Clementine does great with her doggy friends. She is most comfortable with other dogs. The ideal adopter will have another dog in the home that will groom and “mother” her. She loves having a dog around that she can curl up with!! Also, since she is hard to catch, a fenced in yard would be best for her. Due to the fact that Clementine can be a challenge to catch and she does not come when called, any meet/greets will have to be done at the adopter’s home and only within 25 miles of the Northern Kentucky area. PS Guard your socks. She loves socks (haha)

Story
Hi, I am Rosie and I am super shy. I am about 6 years old, have been with HART since June 2021 and am looking for a home to call my own. I came from a hoarding situation where over 150 doggies just like me were living together in a small house. My ideal space will either be with one of my friends (King is extra snuggly) or in a home with a dog about my size to hang around. I am a pretty easy going gal and am not territorial about my food, toys or treats. I don't mind cats but a doggie friend is a must for me. I am happiest if I get to roam around a yard with a fence as I have rarely been on a leash and just don't like it. I think I could learn to love humans and their attention but I will need time and patience as I am just learning what it is like to be loved. Think you might be the family for me? Please fill out an adoption application NOW at rescueahart.org as I have been waiting way too long for a place to call my own!
