Trouble is an 11 month old female chihuahua. She is very timid. She is scared of almost everything. She loves to sit on your lap. Trouble does get motion sickness in a car. She doesn’t travel well. She is really small. She needs a home that will be patient with her. She isn’t catching on to potty training very good. We recently had an event happen in our family and we are unable to spend as much time with her.

Do you want a small dog companion but NOT a lap dog? Do you want a dog who will run from you rather than towards you? Do you want a dog who prefers the company of other dogs over you? Well then I have got the perfect dog for you!! Please give a warm welcome to Clementine! In all seriousness, she is an adorable little girl. Clementine came to Hart in June 2021 and has been in the same foster home ever since. She with so many others was rescued from a hoarding situation in Tennessee. To this day, she still exhibits nervousness around people. For this reason, she is looking for a very special adopter. The adopter will need to be very patient with her and give her ample time to show her brand of affection. While she still runs from me if I try to approach her to pet her, she does make her way over to me at bedtime for lovings. She will even sleep in bed with me and give me some sweet kisses. But when it’s time to get up, she darts away again. I truly can’t explain it but I have learned to accept it. Clementine does great with her doggy friends. She is most comfortable with other dogs. The ideal adopter will have another dog in the home that will groom and “mother” her. She loves having a dog around that she can curl up with!! Also, since she is hard to catch, a fenced in yard would be best for her. Due to the fact that Clementine can be a challenge to catch and she does not come when called, any meet/greets will have to be done at the adopter’s home and only within 25 miles of the Northern Kentucky area. PS Guard your socks. She loves socks (haha)

Hi, I am Rosie and I am super shy. I am about 6 years old, have been with HART since June 2021 and am looking for a home to call my own. I came from a hoarding situation where over 150 doggies just like me were living together in a small house. My ideal space will either be with one of my friends (King is extra snuggly) or in a home with a dog about my size to hang around. I am a pretty easy going gal and am not territorial about my food, toys or treats. I don't mind cats but a doggie friend is a must for me. I am happiest if I get to roam around a yard with a fence as I have rarely been on a leash and just don't like it. I think I could learn to love humans and their attention but I will need time and patience as I am just learning what it is like to be loved. Think you might be the family for me? Meet Carter! 💙 At 8 years old and 14 pounds, Carter is a Chihuahua mix with a big personality packed into one little package! Carter can be a bit timid when meeting new people, but don't let that fool you. He warms up quickly and soon enough, his big-man-on-campus personality comes shining through! In true Chihuahua fashion, he has no doubt that he's in charge of the place. Carter gets along well with other dogs his size, although he might prefer to keep his food bowl all to himself. He's not much of a fan of crate time and tends to put on a little silly show when confined, but at least he's not much of a barker! Carter is a simple guy when it comes to the good things in life. Give him a comfortable chair or a soft dog bed, a loving human, and a cozy spot on the couch, and he's one happy little fellow. His idea of a perfect evening? Snoozing beside you while you watch TV! Meet Moe! He’s the sweetest little senior terrier in town. He’s only about 15 lbs and 10 ish years old. Moe is great with other dogs and likes being with people even more. He’s very sweet and calm. Moe is a love bug who enjoys cuddling his person. He is content to sit beside them  all day long;  making him the perfect work from home buddy.   All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. Athena is a 2 1/2-year-old Chihuahua weighing just 6 pounds, but don't let her tiny size fool you, this little girl has a heart big enough to fill a room! Athena has been through something no dog should have to experience. She suffered a head injury that left her with some permanent brain damage. Thankfully, she does not have seizures, but she does walk with an adorable head tilt and has a bit of a goofy, quirky way about her. Her differences only make her that much more special. Athena is good with other dogs and would love a peaceful, quiet home where she can feel safe and take her time settling in. She can be shy when she first meets someone, but once she realizes she is loved and safe, she warms up beautifully. And when Athena loves you, she loves with her whole heart. IMPORTANT: Athena needs a FEMALE-ONLY home. Because of her tiny size and delicate nature, we are also looking for a home without small children. Her ideal person will be patient, understanding, and willing to give her the time she needs to build confidence and adjust to her new surroundings. Athena may do things a little differently, but she doesn't let that stop her from being a sweet, loving little dog. She deserves someone who will see past her head tilt and goofy walk and recognize the amazing little soul underneath.
