Theo is a Chihuahua-mix, estimated at 9 years old. He had a really rough life before coming to Misty Eyes, but is a very loving and snuggly guy. He weighs in at 8 lbs. Theo was pretty bare on intake from fleas, but his fur is growing in really well. He came to Misty Eyes with 3 teeth, but they were infected, so those were pulled. He is now toothless, so is on a canned food diet. He does make a nasal sound sometimes, but that is due to his teeth eating away at his nasal cavity. Despite all of that, and being deaf, he is a happy little guy who loves to snuggle on the couch and burrow with his human at night. He has a new-found love, chasing and playing with balls and can play for hours! Theo is ready to live his best life now! He is the perfect lap dog! He lives with other small dogs in his foster home and does well, but is not a good fit with cats. Jake was adopted for a while, but ultimately it wasn't the best fit. His foster took him back and we gave him some time to readjust and re-evaluate him before putting him back on the adoption floor. Let's cut to the chase: Jake is quirky. Actually, he's one of the quirkier dogs we've had in a while, and we've had a lot of weirdos. Here's the challenging: -can be dog selective. Of the 6 dogs he regularly interacts with, he likes 4 -he is on Prozac, and while it's possible he can be weaned off of it at some point, we feel that taking him off Prozac while the adopter was moving to a new home was partially to blame for him being returned -he's a runner and will need a secure yard -we would recommend a belly band while he transitions to your home. He is mostly potty trained but will mark if other dogs are markers -best in a home without children The redeeming qualities: -he is CUTE! -he is pretty low maintenance. He enjoys walks, but also enjoys being a couch potato -he is pretty self sufficient -he has good recall -he is crate trained in that he is calm while he is in the crate, but could use work on willingly going into the crate -he is truly a good boy The nitty-gritty: -approx 8 years old -DNA tested: Chihuahua, Mini Schnauzer, Min Pin, Pomeranian -26 lbs -neutered -vaccinated -HW negative -microchipped -recent dental

Meet Theodore! This little guy is as sweet as can be. He is a little Velcro dog who will happily be anywhere you are. Theodore came to us with a few other dogs that had been abandoned in a house. He enjoys the company of other small dogs but does seem to be a little afraid of large dogs. He is not fully potty trained but is adjusting to a schedule and continues to improve. Theodore came to us with severe dental disease and the few infected teeth he had remaining were pulled. He is MUCH happier and is doing great with soft food. Theodore would love a lap to sit in and someone to love him. Theodore is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on flea/heartworm prevention. Meet Arthur! This sweet older gentleman is looking for a retirement home! Arthur came to us after being abandoned in a home. He is a gentle, timid guy who wants nothing more than a lap to sit in and someone to love. He loves his person and will be your shadow everywhere you go. He estimated to be 10-12 years old. He arrived with minimal teeth and after a dental he has no remaining teeth and a short lower jaw from years of infection/dental disease. He is much happier now and eats his soft food like a champ. Arthur does well with other dogs and prefers other small dogs, but would adjust to larger dogs with time. He is not potty trained fully, but is learning to adjust to a schedule. Taffeta & Chiffon go together like apple pie & ice cream! These two are sisters from different litters; they came from a hoarder who had over 60 dogs in the home. Taffeta has the lighter colored face and is 1 1/2 years old; Chiffon has the darker face and is about 1 year old. The girls are a mix of about 5 breeds ... chihuahua/jack russell is what we will list but those round ears are definitely corgi like! And there may be a smidge of dachshund in them as well. Taffeta & Chiffon are just a hoot!!! They are constantly wrestling & rolling around & tearing around the house in games of chase. When they tire of these antics, they are the absolute best snuggle bugs ever! They wrap themselves up around your neck and cuddle in as close to you as they can get. They give the softest, gentlest kisses as well! The girls are still lacking in socialization with people and will bark at strangers; they will need patience and calm training in order to learn that newcomers are not a threat. For this reason, they would not do well in homes with children 16 and under. Taffeta & Chiffon will also need a very secure fenced in yard in which they expend some of their energy. With their fear issues, walking daily on leashes would be too much for them at this point. Chiffon has a "cherry eye" which is scheduled to be removed at the same time as her spay on October 20th. We are only placing the pair with local adopters so that we can assist with integration and socialization for the girls. The adoption fee for the pair is $400; they will be spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and current on heartworm/flea preventative. (Indianapolis area)
