Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Leo! Leo is an 8-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua/Yorkie mix (Chorkie) looking for a loving forever home. He is house trained, incredibly smart, and very well behaved. He sticks to chewing on his toys and bones and usually only barks when someone knocks on the door—or when you turn playtime into a game of keep-away! Leo is a true little lap dog. He loves curling up on your legs in the evening, staying close to his person, and following you around to see what you're doing. He has been spoiled with plenty of soft, stuffed toys over the years and absolutely loves them. His other favorites include boiled chicken, bacon treats, and, of course, a pup cup from the drive-thru. Leo does well with cats, although he can be very curious about them. He is also good with small dogs, especially females. Because he was attacked by a large dog in the past, he is understandably very afraid of larger dogs and would do best in a home without them. He enjoys visits from children, but Leo is a pretty relaxed little guy who prefers a calm, laid-back environment. A home with small children around all the time may be a little overwhelming for him. Leo enjoys short car rides of about 30 minutes to an hour. He gets very excited—and a little anxious—when he realizes he gets to go along for the ride. Longer trips can be harder on him. Although Leo loves cuddling and being close to his people, his crate is also his safe space. He prefers sleeping in it at night and feels most comfortable staying there when his family isn't home. He thrives on routine and knowing what to expect. Leo had a difficult start to life and experienced abuse during his first three years. For the past five years, he has known what it means to be loved and spoiled, and he has become the sweetest little companion. Unfortunately, his current owner can no longer give him the time and attention he deserves. Leo is looking for someone who can give him plenty of love, affection, companionship, and a comfortable routine. In return, you'll get a devoted little shadow, a cuddle buddy, and a best friend who wants to be part of everything you do. Help us find Leo the loving forever home he deserves! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Juicy wants you to know that age is just a number.  At 14 years of age she has unfortunately found herself in need of finding a forever home.  While her eyes and ears are starting to fail her, she’s still able to get around quite well.  Thus far she seems to enjoy car rides, slow walks where she can sniff around, nice fluffy beds, and a quiet place on your furniture to relax.  Juicy doesn’t seem to mind other dogs or cats.  With her vision and hearing failing she does startle easily and will snap at you with sudden movements so a home with older children would be best.  We provide you giving a senior dog a home is very rewarding.   Estimated DOB:   7/17/2012 Adoption fee: $150(6% KY sales tax included)  We would love to hear from you! Story
BELLA is a cute lil dachshund ( long hair) with those short stubby legs but a chihuahua face...She's an adorable lil girl but has the " little dog attitude". If you are the one who feeds then you're her favorite person...Bella must be fed alone ( separate room) because she would sneak another pets food and complain lowdly that its hers....She is bonded to Kylo but we have let her spend her day with another male dog and she seems happy...as long as shes the only female...She has no known health issues...just attitude...Shes friendly, takes her time to assess newcomers....Independent but adventurous...She likes to go outside when its warm...and does not mind snow either....housetrained.

Story
Kylo and Bella are a bonded pair of dachshund chihuahua mixes. They are approximately 5 years old. They have doxie bodies and ears with little chihuahua faces. They love to snuggle, get lots of pets, and play outside. Kylo is the larger of the two...both have long hair. Kylo often gives Bella her own way...but they eat separately...Favors are given independently as they know who got the bigger bite. Kylo is mostly quiet and settled and a warm , soft bed, plenty of fresh water and a puppy pad nearby is all he needs. He loves to be outdoors weather permitting he can bask in the sunshine and play with his toy..He requires very little but is very appreciative of a pat and love and snuggles...He can easily become a couch potato if the weather is cold...but does not mind the rain... Health issues: Kylo has excellent blood work and we keep it checked annually...but he does have beginnings of Cushing ( some breeds do) so he takes on capsule daily at breakfast. Vet says he has an excellent chance of a full lifetime with this treatment...Other than thirst hes a normal pet...and of course a puppy pad to use. He is great with meeting new people, very friendly and affectionalte....He is not the bonded one...hes fine alone so lets talk about Bella

Story
Hi. I'm Daisy. I'm 7 pounds of premium, artisanal, small-batch rage. I am a resource guarder, which means if you have something I want, it's not yours anymore. It's ours . Actually, it's mine . I will die on this hill. I will die on every hill. I have never met a hill I wouldn't die on. I do not like other dogs. I do not like children. I do not like your children, your neighbor's children, or the concept of children in general. I have seen things. I am 7 pounds of unprocessed trauma and I will absolutely square up with a Great Dane if he looks at my snack the wrong way. What I need: An adult-only home with no other pets Someone who understands that "spicy" is not a phase, it's a lifestyle A person who respects boundaries, because I have them. All of them. Every boundary that has ever existed? Mine now. Someone who thinks my attitude is funny and not a problem to be fixed What I offer: Unwavering loyalty to exactly one (1) human The kind of protection usually reserved for much larger dogs Entertainment value that cannot be purchased A reminder that love doesn't always come soft and gentlesometimes it comes with teeth and a manifesto I am not a starter dog. I am not a family dog. I am a personality with paws. If you want a dog who will worship you unconditionally and get along with everyone, I am not your girl. But if you want a tiny, furious roommate who will make you feel chosen every single day? Apply within. Bring treats. No eye contact. Our adoption fee helps offset the cost of preparing our guests to enter a forever home! While expenses for each animal varies, the average healthy dog or cat receives $500 in medical treatment between intake and adoption. Variables in the cost are conditional based on guest needs with some topping out at thousands of dollars. Our adoption always includes: Basic health and wellness check by trained vet staffSpay/NeuterMicrochip with registrationUp-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies vaccine)Deworming, heartworm prevention and flea controlBasic Groom/BathFeline leukemia/FIV Combo testHeartworm testPost Adoption Benefits:Complementary veterinary wellness exam from AllPets Veterinary Clinic30-day free pet insurance policy from Trupanion30-day subscription to DOGtvLIFEtime Commitment from LIFEHouse for AnimalsLIFEtime Pet Companion Support from LIFEHouse for Animals A best friend for life!
