Story
Meet Tiny! This adorable 15-week-old Chihuahua mix might be small—just 3 pounds!—but she’s got a huge personality. What she lacks in size, she more than makes up for in charm and spunk! Tiny is a playful, people-loving girl who adores being held and snuggled. She’s been socialized with other dogs and would do best in a calm home with smaller dogs or cats. She’s also working hard on her crate and potty training and doing a great job for her age! Tiny is spayed, age-appropriately vaccinated, fecal tested, dewormed, microchipped, and up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. If you’re ready to welcome this tiny bundle of joy into your life, apply to adopt at www.rescuepetsinc.com/adopt

Story
Meet Pee Wee! This tiny 14-week-old chihuahua mix weighs just 2.5 lbs, and we expect he’ll stay very small—possibly even teacup-sized. Because of his size, he’ll need a home that understands how fragile he is and can take extra safety precautions to keep him safe. Pee Wee is very playful and would love to have another small dog friend in the home. He will be adopted on a neuter contract, as he’s currently too small for the procedure, but he is more than ready to begin bonding with his forever people! He is vaccinated, microchipped, fecal tested, dewormed, and on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He’s working on crate and potty training and will need continued consistency as he grows. Applications to adopt can be submitted at www.rescuepetsinc.com/adopt.

Story
Make sure to let us know you saw Frazier on Adopt-a-pet. Frazier is quite the gentlemen at only 3 years old- he has a taste for the finer things in life. Be it the ladies or kiddos over 5, he knows what he wants! Who wouldn't when you are as well traveled as him? Speaking of, at first, Fraizer can be a bit of a door darter, however once he becomes comfortable within a space, this tendency seems to subside. As with most little dogs he tends to like his territory (and will mark it as such. With proper training, he can learn not to!). A good Kong treat to work on and a plate full of pate are all this small boy needs to be content. Cat behavior unknown and he can be picky about who he calls a friend dog-wise. Stop on in and meet with our smallest fine sir! **Fenced yard required**

Story
Name: Snowball Breed Guess: Chihuahua mix Age: 2 years old Gender: Male Weight: 10.3 pounds Adoption fee: $395 plus a $50 refundable deposit Am I good with: Children: Yes, respectful kids Cats: We can test upon request Dogs: Yes, Meet and Greet Required About Me: Hi there! I'm a small guy with a big heart. I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but give me just a little time and you'll see my sweet side shine through. Once I feel safe, I love nothing more than curling up close and asking for belly rubs - they're my favorite! I'm just looking for someone who's patient and kind and will let me love them in my own gentle way. My new family should be ready for the possibility that I might need potty, leash, and training as the ARP doesn't know what skills I've learned in the past. My brother Socks who is in foster shoes that be has a sense of potty and leash skills, but any family should be ready for accidents and setbacks with everything being so new. I've been at the ARP since 9/6/25 and I'm currently located at the ARP. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan
