Story
Hi… I’m Gizmo. The shelter is calling me Griz, but I’ve always known myself as Gizmo.I’m a little scared to even say this, but… I need a new home. Two days ago, the only person I’ve ever loved passed away. Just like that, my whole world changed. The home I knew, the voice I followed, the arms I felt safe in — they’re gone. And now I’m trying to understand what happens next.I may be small, but my grief is very big.I used to live with two massive pit bulls, and I held my own just fine! I might be tiny, but I’ve got a brave little spirit. I’m scheduled for my neuter tomorrow, and afterward I’ll be going to a foster home where I can decompress and feel safe again. There’s something you should know about me — I only have one tooth in my tiny mouth. Because of that, I eat a soft food diet. And while I may be nearly toothless, I still act like I’ve got a full set of piranha teeth when I’m feeling overwhelmed. (Just kidding… mostly. You get the gist.)Right now, I’m what they call “fractious,” but really… I’m grieving. I’m confused. I’m hurting. I lost my person.I don’t need much.A quiet home.A patient heart.Gentle hands.Soft food. And someone who understands that love lost takes time to heal.Once I feel safe again, I promise my little personality will shine through. There’s still a loyal heart in here — it’s just bruised right now.If you have room in your life for a tiny dog with one tooth and a whole lot of love to give once he’s ready, I’m here.Waiting. ??
