Story
Boots is a 2.5 year old, 10lb Chihuahua mix who came into rescue with Brandy. They adore each other; and often can be found snuggling in the same doggy bed. They get along well with the four other small dogs in the home, as well as the foster Mom and Dad. These pups found the doggy door on their first day in their temporary home. They are pretty well housebroken, but, if no one is around, will use a pad. Boots loves to play fetch, and remarkably, will bring the toy back to you for as long as you will play! Brandy and Boots are calm and seem well adjusted as long as they have each other, In this case, having two little ones is easier than just having one. Both dogs tested heartworm pos and are in the process of being treated. Story
Peanut is a three year old 5-7 lb long haired chihuahua or pomeranian mix. He is the sweetest little guy! Peanut and several others were surrendered from a home who had too many dogs to the Marion animal shelter. Lucifer and Lucy are the other two of this group that our rescue took. All three are heartworm negative. Peanut had the worst coat and has a lot of gaps in hair growth, some may have been shaved or cut when he was neutered. We feel with proper flea protection, good food and some medicated baths he will bounce back. He has a great little personality and asks to get in the big bed with his foster mom. Story
Hazel is a 5-7 year-old 11 pound chihuahua / Yorkie terrier mix. She is a little shy when she meets a new person, however, once she warms up to you she loves you with her whole heart. She is a faithful, fun-loving companion who loves to play with toys and snuggle in your lap (or by your side) Hazel is house-trained and plays well with the other 2 dogs in her foster home. She enjoys walks and does well on a leash. She loves to sleep in the bed with her people, but is also quite cozy in her little round bed. Hazel would do well in a home as an only pet or with other dogs. She joined our rescue after being abandoned at a vacant house on a chain - however since then she has been treated for heartworms, has been spayed, and is up to date on all her vaccinations. She is thriving in her foster home and is ready to find a fur-ever family of her own.
