Story
Dippy is nearly 5 years old and a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. He was adopted from ODAS but surrendered by his owner 4 years later (no fault of his own) with his companion, Chippy Dip (see other profile). Dippy is partial to women, is a bit skittish/scared of men, and does not care for children. Dippy is scared and doesn't understand why he's here with Chippy Dip. He's playful, yet stubborn, and loves toys and is food motivated! He's good with cats, tolerates Chippy Dip, but otherwise would do best if he's the only dog in the home. Dippy is afraid of loud noises (vacuum, thunder, and these loud barking dogs at the shelter) and can be skittish at first until he gets to know you. We won't require Dippy and Chippy Dip go to the same home--but they'd probably rather have it that way... Dippy can become anxious when left alone and would prefer an adult only home where their person/people were home most of the time.

Story
Approx. DOB:  1/15/24                Approx Weight: 12.52 Lbs Adoption Fee: $275 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness!!  Mowie is Chihuahua/Dachshund mix that is normally named chiweenie. He is small at 12pds and fully grown. He is crate trained but has to use a belly band (in the house to keep him from marking) while we work on that. He can be a bit feisty and if you know the Chihuahua breed that is where he gets it from. We do not want to place him with households with children under 9 years old because he gets really nervous with smaller ones. He would be happier with older children. Mowie loves playing with smaller dogs and has been very scared and timid around larger dogs until he knows they won't hurt him. This little fella is a total sweetheart once he knows your a safe human and only wants to love him. Get those applications in today to meet and adopt this little guy.  !   I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Story
Tiny body. Big dog energy. Zero apologies. Quigley is a 7-year-old Chihuahua who firmly believes he is a big dog and sees no reason to pretend otherwise. He’s confident, opinionated, and unapologetically himself — the kind of dog who knows what he likes, what he doesn’t, and expects you to respect both. He does well with other dogs, but cats? Not so much. Quigley will chase them like it’s his personal mission, so a cat-free home is preferred. At home, Quigley’s tough-guy act melts into something much cozier. He loves burrowing under the covers and being close to his person. Once you’re “his,” you’re in — he’s loyal, attached, and happiest tucked in beside you like a tiny, judgmental furnace. ✔ Good with dogs ✔ Burrow-under-the-covers professional ✔ Devoted to his person ✔ Neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines ✔ Best suited for someone who appreciates a dog with boundaries and personality Quigley isn’t here to be everyone’s dog. He’s here to be someone’s dog. If you love Chihuahuas with confidence, spice, and a little bit of attitude, Quigley might be exactly your kind of companion.

Story
Baby is a 6 year old Rat Terrier Chihuahua mix with a fun personality and lots of love to give. This sweet little dog is just under 20 lbs., and enjoys spending time with her humans and is always ready for a small adventure. Baby is dog and cat friendly and has lived with both in the past. She has never met a stranger and greets every being with kindness & curiosity. Baby is currently learning leash walking and is doing great as she gains confidence exploring the world. She would LOVE a patient family that will continue helping her learn. However, she is perfectly content to run around a fenced back yard. And her most favorite thing in the world, is if you chase her a bit! She'll run like a rocket when you do! With her playful spirit and loyal heart, Baby would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a small dog with a big personality. She snuggles on the couch most of the day and likes to burrow under a blanket. Baby was born with "selective hearing", and a slight head tilt, according to our vet. But that does not slow Baby down at all! She does NOT skip a beat, she will be your shadow. Baby is smart as a whip and being a bit of a terrier, she will keep you entertained. She'd love a canine companion to play with but is fine to play with toys by herself as well. Baby came to us as potty pad trained but she also goes out to do potty chores with her foster siblings. She has come a long way on house training. She has learned that when the dogs do potty chores outside, that a tasty treat is awaiting her when she comes back inside. She fully understands the concept of pawsitive reward! Baby loves the sunshine very much, it's like it charges her up! Conversely, Baby dislikes the rain and cold very much, this is when the Chihuahua in her comes out. Baby cannot tolerate being crated. She has a crate that she sleeps in at night but the door is always left open for her to get access to her potty pad and water bowl. When she goes for car rides, she is happiest to be in a back seat. She has free reign in her fosters' house during the day while they are at work, because she is such a good girl! Baby will require a home with a fenced yard. Her adoption fee has been sponsored by Virgil's Plant Shop (www.virgilsplantshop.com). With any approved application, her adoption fee is $0. Baby comes up to date on vaccinations, microchip, heartworm testing and spayed. Apply to adopt Baby at www.lucky13rescue.org.

Story
Meet Shadow! This sweet little cuddle bug absolutely adores her people, and snuggling is her favorite pastime. She may be a bit timid and shy when first meeting new faces, but with a little patience, she’ll quickly warm up and melt right into your arms. Shadow would thrive in a home with other small dogs, as she feels most comfortable with furry companions by her side. She is kennel trained, house trained, and does well on a leash, making her an easy addition to the right loving home. Shadow's adopter must have another small dog in the home or the application will not be approved. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion, Shadow might just be your perfect match! Shadow will come with age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $125. Apply to adopt Shadow today at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog or at www.lucky13rescue.org.
