Story
DOB: 6/28/25                                  Current Weight(as of 2/20/26 is 8pds)   Adoption Fee: $350 includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness.    Bestie came to us at just one week old with his siblings. His right eye never fully developed and had to be removed at 5 months old. He doesn't have full vision in his left eye but he does extremely well getting around his foster family's home. Routine and having items not moved around help him guide his way around the home. His biggest vision issue is depth perception.  He never goes up or down stairs.  His foster family carry him outside to go potty and play under their constant supervision. His potty routine is using peewee pads in the house unless he is carried outside to go. If you have stairs in your home then they must be baby gated off to keep him safe.  Bestie loves other dogs! He does tend to be scared around dogs over 30pds. His best friend is a 15pd terrier mix. He has done great around the kitties. Most are his size or bigger.  Bestie is crate trained. He sleeps in a crate at night with his bed and a peewee pad.    He is that cutest little guy. When he gets worked up playing or running after us in a game of tag he sounds like he is giving a little honking sound.  It's the cutest thing and hard to explain.  Fill out that application if you fill he would be a great companion to your family and your family will be great for him to live with.    Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out t8o potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.  Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Approx. DOB:  1/15/24                Approx Weight: 12.52 Lbs Adoption Fee: $275 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness!!  Mowie is Chihuahua/Dachshund mix that is normally named chiweenie. He is small at 12pds and fully grown. He is crate trained but has to use a belly band (in the house to keep him from marking) while we work on that. He can be a bit feisty and if you know the Chihuahua breed that is where he gets it from. We do not want to place him with households with children under 9 years old because he gets really nervous with smaller ones. He would be happier with older children. Mowie loves playing with smaller dogs and has been very scared and timid around larger dogs until he knows they won't hurt him. This little fella is a total sweetheart once he knows your a safe human and only wants to love him. Story
Meet Baby — A Little Dog with a Lot of Character Baby is an 6-year-old Chihuahua mix with a personality all her own. She’s small in size (under 20 pounds!) but full of charm, quirks, and a quiet confidence that makes her unforgettable. When Baby’s owners moved into assisted living, she found herself looking for a new start. She’s spayed, fully vaccinated, and up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She previously lived with another medium-sized dog and a cat, so she’s used to having other pets around. Baby loves car rides, soft toys, and curling up on the couch for a good nap. She’s hard of hearing and has a cute little head tilt that only adds to her one-of-a-kind personality. She arrived potty pad trained and is still learning the ropes of full house training. This little lady enjoys being carried and doesn’t mind being spoiled a bit, especially if treats are involved. Because she can get a little protective of her toys, Baby would do best in a home with adults or older children who appreciate her sassy, independent streak. If you’re looking for a small companion who knows what she likes and loves deeply once she trusts you, Baby just might be the perfect match. Baby will require a home with a fenced yard. Her adoption fee is $125. This includes her vaccinations, microchip, heartworm testing and spay surgery. Apply to adopt Baby at www.lucky13rescue.org.

Story
We are a matched based adoption agency, if you see a dog in our program in which you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online application at kcpaws.org and one of our adoptions counselors will be in touch once your application has been screened. Please note that we do require dogs to meet all members of the family including existing pets in the home before finalizing during your in home adoption.Aliyah is about 2-3 years old, spayed, up to date on all vetting, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is 150. Aliyah came to us from a neglect case and has been with a foster for a few months now to help her come out of her shell. She is used to living with other dogs around her size or smaller. She can be timid meeting new dogs but as long as the dog is friendly and gives her time to adjust she does very well. Aliyah is a very fearful dog when in new situations and meeting new people and can be especially fearful of men. Once she trusts someone she does become very attached but she will need a lot of TLC and patience to trust another new person in a new environment. She can be reactive in moments of fear, or protective of her person with strangers. She will need continued training through her trust issues with a confident owner who has experience working with dogs who may have experienced trauma. She is not an appropriate fit for a home with children. Aliyah enjoys walks, stuffed toys, treats, and is affectionate once you've gained her trust.

Sweet, Spicy, and Full of Personality! This girl is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy! She’s a medium-to-high energy pup who loves attention and is always ready to snuggle, especially right by your head. Whether she’s entertaining herself or playing with others, she’s a joy to have around. Stella is approximately 35lbs. Everyone who meets her says she's bigger than expected. She’s both kennel and house trained, and while she gets a little excited on walks and may pull at times, she’s learning quickly. She's a smart cookie and very food motivated, which makes training a breeze. Looking for a loving, playful companion with a big heart and a little sass? She’s your girl! Stella's adoption fee is $225. This fee includes her vaccinations, microchip, heartworm testing, and spay. To meet Stella fill out an adoption application at www.lucky13rescue.org.

Story
DOB: 11/1/2020                Approx. Weight: 24.8 Adoption Fee: $275 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Stella Mae is what they call a Pomsky.... part Pomeranian and part Husky.  Stella can climb chain link fences, will need a 6ft wood fence. Stella Mae is right at that perfect size.... not to small not to big at 24pds. She is all fluffy, soft fur Stella Mae came to us when her family had a divorce. You can tell she was greatly loved by them. She has a sweet and playful personality.  Stella Mae makes friends with all the dogs she meets . Stella Mae will play with any size of dog and if they don't want to play, she will just hang out with them, if they want. She loves stuffy toys! So far she hasn't destroyed any of them which is very unusual because all the other dogs in her foster family does.  Stella Mae came into her foster home loving every person. She confidently with tail wagging met the husband and wife. She acted like they were her best friends. She is a confident little lady. She was raised with a little girl so we know she loves children. Stella is crate trained and housebroken.... kind of. She will go outside to potty but she will also use a potty pad if one is left out for her. She was walked on a leash to go potty outside and a potty pad was put down inside her home. Stella Mae has been trained to use one if needed. So, we put a large one near the door and she uses it if needed.  Stella Mae hasn't barked yet in her new foster home but she gives a whine and twirls for to get attention. Like a little ballerina!  Stella is going to make some lucky family a wonderful companion. Get your application in today! I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
