Meet Baby — A Little Dog with a Lot of Character Baby is an 6-year-old Chihuahua mix with a personality all her own. She’s small in size (under 20 pounds!) but full of charm, quirks, and a quiet confidence that makes her unforgettable. When Baby’s owners moved into assisted living, she found herself looking for a new start. She’s spayed, fully vaccinated, and up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She previously lived with another medium-sized dog and a cat, so she’s used to having other pets around. Baby loves car rides, soft toys, and curling up on the couch for a good nap. She’s hard of hearing and has a cute little head tilt that only adds to her one-of-a-kind personality. She arrived potty pad trained and is still learning the ropes of full house training. This little lady enjoys being carried and doesn’t mind being spoiled a bit, especially if treats are involved. Because she can get a little protective of her toys, Baby would do best in a home with adults or older children who appreciate her sassy, independent streak. If you’re looking for a small companion who knows what she likes and loves deeply once she trusts you, Baby just might be the perfect match. Baby will require a home with a fenced yard. We are a matched based adoption agency, if you see a dog in our program in which you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online application at kcpaws.org and one of our adoptions counselors will be in touch once your application has been screened. Please note that we do require dogs to meet all members of the family including existing pets in the home before finalizing during your in home adoption.Aliyah is about 2-3 years old, spayed, up to date on all vetting, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is 150. Aliyah came to us from a neglect case and has been with a foster for a few months now to help her come out of her shell. She is used to living with other dogs around her size or smaller. She can be timid meeting new dogs but as long as the dog is friendly and gives her time to adjust she does very well. Aliyah is a very fearful dog when in new situations and meeting new people and can be especially fearful of men. Once she trusts someone she does become very attached but she will need a lot of TLC and patience to trust another new person in a new environment. She can be reactive in moments of fear, or protective of her person with strangers. She will need continued training through her trust issues with a confident owner who has experience working with dogs who may have experienced trauma. She is not an appropriate fit for a home with children. Aliyah enjoys walks, stuffed toys, treats, and is affectionate once you've gained her trust.

She’s a medium-to-high energy pup who loves attention and is always ready to snuggle—especially right by your head. Whether she’s entertaining herself or playing with others, she’s a joy to have around. Stella is approximately 35lbs. Everyone who meets her says she's bigger than expected. She’s both kennel and house trained, and while she gets a little excited on walks and may pull at times, she’s learning quickly. She's a smart cookie and very food motivated, which makes training a breeze. Looking for a loving, playful companion with a big heart and a little sass? She’s your girl! Don’t let her age fool you, this gal has a lot of fun and sparkle in her! On a typical day, she likes to spend equal time taking walks, playing, napping under a pile of blankets and lots of couch cuddling. (She’s a bonafide lap dog!) She’s crate trained and ready for action, loves car rides, too! Katie hasn’t been around young children that we know of but does well with older kids and adults once she gets to know them. She gets along beautifully with her dog housemate and his canine friends as well. On outings she’s leash reactive but treats magically diffuse situations. Ok with cats.
