Their wonderful life was turned upside-down when they lost their human Mom very unexpectedly about 6 months ago. These ladies have always been together, are very bonded and must be adopted together. They just recently (Nov 2023) had full wellness checks, including blood panels and dental cleanings, and are UTD on vaccinations, flea/HW prevention. They are both spayed and microchipped. They have no known allergies or health issues. SuSu does have some minor arthritis in her rear Rt leg from an old unknown injury (scar). She has just started on some mild arthritis meds and is feeling great!SuSu is very quiet, calm, sweet and affectionate. She has very soulful eyes and a charming personality that is sure to win you over. She just loves to chill with her human, watch TV, lay in the sun, snack, and enjoy life. She will flip herself onto her back for belly rubs without any encouragement. She has “retired” from being a typical Chihuahua.Lulu is super-goofy, equally charming, sweet and affectionate but still has a playful streak. If you softly blow in her face, she gets the ZOOMIES instantly and will have you howling with laughter at her antics. She has fluffy ears that flop around like wings when she is playful. She also loves to “bury” her toys and rearrange her bed/blankets. LuLu is more the protector and initially vocal at strangers, doorbells and sudden loud noises. She is part Chihuahua after all! They are good with other calm small dogs, but think they would really love to be your“princesses.” They are very cat-friendly. They are very food motivated (shocking I know). Both are very smart and take direction and correction quite well. They LOVE car rides, belly rubs, laying in the sunshine and of course all snacks! They are not fond of big dogs, active dogs, puppies, small children or really any crazy/busy households. They want to retire permanently from all things crazy! (Don’t we all!) Occasionally they are wary of new people but seem to overcome it very quickly with a little encouragement, sweet talk and kindness (aka a snack)! They both love laying in the sunshine and being with their people and LIVE to snuggle. Both will give tons of kisses, but LuLu is definitely the licker of the two! They like chewing on bully-sticks, watching TV, going for short walks and snacking (sense a theme?). Both girls will stand and dance on their hind legs for treats! They are excellent walking on a leash together (coupled). With a regular routine, they are 100% house-trained. They prefer a fenced yard (for doing their business), but are potty-pad trained, if need be. In their current foster home, they goout about every four hours during the day but can/will go longer without issue. They sleep together in their bed from 11pm-7am without getting up or making a peep. They also LOVE tosleep in bed, under the covers, with their humans. They are kennel-trained and sometimes sleep in it during the day (open)… but it is really not necessary. They are not destructive oruntrustworthy at all and have no issue, being left alone together, unsupervised.Contact KBeach1470@gmail.com or 850-232-1266 today to learn more or meet these cute Chugs! Story
Bella is about 12 years old and weighs 11 pounds. She is quite the typical chihuahua that loves being carried around and is very loyal to her person/people. She had a dental and was spayed soon after coming to Mountain Pet Rescue. Bella likes hanging out with her foster parents on the bed and sleeping under the covers, she doesn't seem to mind other dogs and cats in her foster home as long as they respect her space. She also loves car rides and short walks at the park. Bella uses pee pads rather reliably and would love a home to enjoy her senior years. She is also up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and started on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $200 and you can apply to adopt at mpravl.org. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Story
Hello, me and my fiance are moving out of state in a sudden life change for us. We have 4 pets and just can't bring everyone with us as we will be moving into a small apartment. Freyja is around 7 years old. She is trained to use puppy pads indoors. She lives people and tolerates other animals. She currently lives with 2 cats and another large dog. She is not aggressive but does not like other animals in her face. We are looking for someone who has more time to dedicate to her or a family with kids who would enjoy playing with her.

Story
Sweet Buster - Buster was a last minute pull from the shelter because he was getting ready to be euthanized along with several others that had to be caught by animal control after their owner moved into a nursing home and none of them had been socialized or outside the home but out of all of them (we were able to save all 6 of them) Buster was the worst and the shelter could not lay their hands on him. I knew if given the proper time he would come around but he had to do it on his terms and that was never going to happen at a noisy shelter. So we loaded him up and I brought him home to foster. I gave him his space and time but would sit on the floor and talk softly to him - within 3 days he was taking treats out of my hand and by the end of the week he would crawl into my lap and lay upside down and want his belly rubbed. Today I can do anything to the little guy as I earned his trust and he will give that trust out but it will take just the right home that understands that Buster needs to do it on his terms and needs time and patience. The one thing we have learned is that Buster has a fear of men - he has been with me for months and still does not trust my husband but we know that before coming to the rescue there was a male family member that was not so kind to these dogs and Buster has not forgotten that - we are aiming to find him a home where there are no men in the house which we have done for a couple of our dogs over the years so we know it is possible. We feel like putting him in a home with a male figure is only going to make him stay on edge all the time and that is no way to live. He is a small little guy at 6 pounds and he is estimated to be a little over a year old. He has made leaps and bounds with his housebreaking but will need consistency and patience when going to a new place. He loves loves loves his toys and his cuddle round bed. He loves other animals and would benefit from another dog in learning the ropes. Buster will also require a fenced in yard as we feel that is best for him. While he has been around a child in his foster home and after time has done well - we do recommend no small children Buster is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick medication. His adoption fee is 250.00. If you are interested in Buster, please go to our website and fill out our adoption application - we will not set any meet and greets up until that application is filled out. We do require vet references and a home visit. Buster honestly is one amazing little dog and once you earn his trust - he gives you his whole heart and he is a total little love. He loves to be held like a baby and loves to have that belly rubbed. A lot of heart went into rehabbing this little guy so please read the description before filling out the application. We do not set our dogs up for failure and that is why we have certain requirements as they are with us 24/7 in our homes, so we know what would be the perfect fit for them.

Story
And another one of the three that were brought to our vets office to be euthanized for NO good reason is ready to find a home to call his own - little Chinto. Chinto is estimated to be 6 years old and weighs 16 pounds - a small little guy that is also mostly blind - but he can see shadows and has no issues getting around His foster Mom, Frances, has done a great job with him and here is what she thinks would make the best home for little Chinto: He prefers it inside and we think it is possibly because he lived outside his entire life before coming to the rescue - but this boy does love some sunshine on his face. The perfect situation for him would be an only dog home - he really just wants to be near his people/person - he is not really a cuddler or a lap dog but given time he may be but he wants to be in close vicinity of his people. He is not 100% housebroken but is doing so so much better - he is not a fan of the rain so those days can be challenging. . He would be great for a person that is just wanting a dog to keep them company as he would be perfect for that. He does fine being left alone and gets so excited regardless if it is 15 minutes or 2 hours - just super excited someone is back home. He had no idea what toys were when he came to the rescue but has learned to play with them and enjoy them. He also does well going for car rides Because he is mostlyd blind sudden movements can scare him - so we recommend no kids. He adjusted to his surroundings in his foster home quickly being blind so we know he will adjust to a new home quickly as well. We would prefer a fenced in yard for him This little man just needs a family to love and appreciate him, because he is a great little dog and for the first time in his life realized that life as a loved dog is pretty good and he is enjoying it If you are interested in adopting Chinto - please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, has had bloodwork done, microchipped, dewormed, current on monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention and we got his ear issues that had been left untreated before coming to the rescue resolved. His adoption fee is $250.00. He is being fostered in Hendersonville,NC So if you are looking for some good company - look no further - Chinto is your guy for sure. As a reminder - we are volunteer based and work on processing the applications as soon as we get them but sometimes it is taking vets offices (yes we do reference checks) a couple of days to get back to us. We also require a home visit

Story
Our little man Toby is ready to find a family to call his own. Toby came to the rescue after he was dumped in the middle of nowhere and came to us severely emaciated and was heartworm positive - it did not take long to get him on the right track and his heartworm have been treated as well. Toby is estimated to be about a year old - he is currently 22 pounds and such an amazing little guy Here is what Toby's foster had to say about him: If you are looking for a sweet, loving , playful dog Toby is your guy. Toby is crate trained and house trained. He will get your attention when he needs to potty. He loves car rides and walks. We would recommend continued leash training and basic commands like stay as he can get over stimulated at times and forget to stay. Toby responds well to positive correction. Toby loves squeaky toys - his favorite is the Kong Action ball- he takes it to bed with him and brings it out when he wakes up. ( you should have back up spares - he can wear out a squeaker fast!) He really enjoys you to play with him , so don’t be alarmed by his vocals when playing - he thinks it’s fun and is his way of bonding with you. Due to his over stimulation at times and the way he plays, we would recommend no children under 10. A fenced yard is also needed as he is curious and likes to investigate the outside world. He is not a fan of loud sounds like fireworks, big dogs barking, loud yelling those things cause him anxiety and he will hide . (Cats are unknown) Toby rarely barks (talk about a perk for a small dog!) he would enjoy someone that is home and or works from home . Toby is just a super little companion who just wants to be around you and give a few kisses - yes he likes to give kisses too ! If you are interested in adding this precious boy to your family (and you won't be sorry) please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - We do NOT set up meet and greets until the application has been received and reviewed. We do vet references and home visits. Toby's adoption fee is $250.00. He is current on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention, dewormed, has had a full bloodwork panel done. He si so ready to add a last name to his and have a family to call his own Don't wait - get that application in
