Story
And another one of the three that were brought to our vets office to be euthanized for NO good reason is ready to find a home to call his own - little Chinto. Chinto is estimated to be 7 years old and weighs 18 pounds - a small little guy that is also mostly blind - but he can see shadows and has no issues getting around He prefers it inside and we think it is possibly because he lived outside his entire life before coming to the rescue - but this boy does love some sunshine on his face. Chinto is currently in a foster home with 3 other small dogs and with proper introductions , he has done great - we do believe he would do best in a home with dogs his size - he is not really a cuddler or a lap dog but given time he may be but he wants to be in close vicinity of his people. He would be great for a person that is just wanting a dog to keep them company as he would be perfect for that. He does fine being left alone and gets so excited regardless if it is 15 minutes or 2 hours - just super excited someone is back home. He had no idea what toys were when he came to the rescue but has learned to play with them and enjoy them. He also does well going for car rides Because he is mostlyd blind sudden movements can scare him - so we recommend no small kids. He adjusted to his surroundings in his foster home quickly being blind so we know he will adjust to a new home quickly as well. We would prefer a fenced in yard for him This little man just needs a family to love and appreciate him, because he is a great little dog and for the first time in his life realized that life as a loved dog is pretty good and he is enjoying it If you are interested in adopting Chinto - please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, has had bloodwork done, microchipped, dewormed, current on monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention and we got his ear issues that had been left untreated before coming to the rescue resolved. His adoption fee is $250.00. He is being fostered in Hendersonville,NC So if you are looking for some good company - look no further - Chinto is your guy for sure. As a reminder - we are volunteer based and work on processing the applications as soon as we get them but sometimes it is taking vets offices (yes we do reference checks) a couple of days to get back to us. We also require a home visit

Story
Sweet Buster - Buster was a last minute pull from the shelter because he was getting ready to be euthanized along with several others that had to be caught by animal control after their owner moved into a nursing home and none of them had been socialized or outside the home but out of all of them (we were able to save all 6 of them) Buster was the worst and the shelter could not lay their hands on him. I knew if given the proper time he would come around but he had to do it on his terms and that was never going to happen at a noisy shelter. So we loaded him up and I brought him home to foster. I gave him his space and time but would sit on the floor and talk softly to him - within 3 days he was taking treats out of my hand and by the end of the week he would crawl into my lap and lay upside down and want his belly rubbed. Today I can do anything to the little guy as I earned his trust and he will give that trust out but it will take just the right home that understands that Buster needs to do it on his terms and needs time and patience. The one thing we have learned is that Buster has a fear of men - he has been with me for months and still does not trust my husband but we know that before coming to the rescue there was a male family member that was not so kind to these dogs and Buster has not forgotten that - we are aiming to find him a home where there are no men in the house which we have done for a couple of our dogs over the years so we know it is possible. We feel like putting him in a home with a male figure is only going to make him stay on edge all the time and that is no way to live. He is a small little guy at 6 pounds and he is estimated to be a little over a year old. He has made leaps and bounds with his housebreaking but will need consistency and patience when going to a new place. He loves loves loves his toys and his cuddle round bed. He loves other animals and would benefit from another dog in learning the ropes. Buster will also require a fenced in yard as we feel that is best for him. While he has been around a child in his foster home and after time has done well - we do recommend no small children Buster is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick medication. His adoption fee is 250.00. If you are interested in Buster, please go to our website and fill out our adoption application - we will not set any meet and greets up until that application is filled out. We do require vet references and a home visit. Buster honestly is one amazing little dog and once you earn his trust - he gives you his whole heart and he is a total little love. He loves to be held like a baby and loves to have that belly rubbed. A lot of heart went into rehabbing this little guy so please read the description before filling out the application. We do not set our dogs up for failure and that is why we have certain requirements as they are with us 24/7 in our homes, so we know what would be the perfect fit for them.

Story
Small in size but mighty in spirit, Peanut is a brave little pup with a heart full of love — literally and figuratively! 💖 This resilient sweetheart had surgery to repair a heart vessel that didn’t close properly at birth, and she’s bounced back beautifully. 🌟 Peanut is a lively, loving, and delightfully goofy companion who brings joy wherever she goes. She adores playtime, especially when puzzle feeders are involved — she’s a clever girl who loves a good challenge! 🧩✨ She’s lived with kids and other dogs, and while she gets along well with canine pals, she forms deep bonds with her people and takes that loyalty very seriously. Once she’s decided you’re hers, she’ll want to make sure everyone knows it! 💕 Peanut would thrive with a family ready to help her keep building confidence and show her that she’s safe, loved, and part of a steady routine. With her bright personality, loving heart, and playful spirit, Peanut is pure sunshine in dog form. ☀️🐾 Come meet this animal (and many others!) this Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM at Brother Wolf Animal Rescue! Felicity is a tiny bundle of love and cuteness who adores her person and loves to cuddle. 😍 She’s happiest in a calm, quiet home where she can spend lots of time snuggling, watching TV, or just hanging out in your lap. 🛋️💛 This affectionate little lady is a true lap dog at heart. She enjoys gentle attention and thrives when she has a person to dote on. Felicity would do best in a peaceful environment, ideally with adults or older children, where she can relax, feel safe, and give all her love to the person she bonds closely with. Story
Looking for a MeeMaw!!! He will steal your heart and just wants the company of someone to snuggle with! Ned came to us with 8 other chihuahuas and took quite a while to warm up to us but once he came out of his shell he became quite the big little love bug. He will stay attached to you at all times, he loves to cuddle, he will do whatever you’re up too and after some time will enjoy playing with other dogs around his size. He doesn’t like wet grass and his favorite color is yellow. A fenced yard would be lovely, too. Ned is five years old, weighs 11 pounds, is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, is on monthly flea and heartworm prevention, and his adoption fee is $200 All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. November 5, 2025, 12:34 am
