Story
Napoleon is quite the character, as his name suggests. He came to us as a pretty fearful, aggressive pup, but with lots of work from his foster he is learning to trust humans and is getting a little overly confident now. He is learning that he is not in charge and he needs a human who will not bow down to his every whim and mood swing. His foster says, "Show no fear and he will love you!" As long as you aren't hesitant with him he does great and will let you do pretty much anything to him. But if someone is shy and hesitant around him he goes on a little tirade and can get growly and nippy . If you are an experienced, confident human who would love a little buddy, then Napoleon is for you!

Story
Lucy came to Saver of Souls as a stray in poor health. You wouldn't believe that now! She has gained weight, has had a much needed dental, and her skin is looking wonderful. She is so much stronger. She does still has some weakness in her hind legs, but she improves almost daily. Lucy is an active senior dog, but also enjoys lap time. She is housebroken and loves a good walk. She needs more training on leash but is coming along. Lucy is a barker and so may not be suitable for apartment living. She gets along with other dogs but not cats. She seems to like children who know how to treat dogs. No tail pulling! Lucy is a lively and cute little dog who would do best in a quieter home. She deserves all the love you can give her.

Story
Chihuahuas are some of the most beloved breeds in America today. Their small bodies and tender, loving souls bring the kind of affection that so many people are searching for. They don’t need much space or food, yet they give enormous companionship, loyalty, and joy. These little dogs want to be at the center of their person’s world, creating bonds that last a lifetime and leaving a legacy of love that endures even after they are gone.   Grant’s story is one of resilience and hope. He came from a home with too many dogs and not enough care, ending up in a tiny shelter in Tennessee, frightened and unsure of the world. Despite this uncertain past, Grant has a gentle heart and a sweet, affectionate nature that is shining through more every day.   Grant is a handsome 1-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with the most charming white sock “leggings” that make him truly stand out. He’s a tall little boy with a big heart, and though he can be a bit nervous at first, he is making remarkable progress in just two weeks with us. Like a child a little afraid of the dark, Grant simply needs patience, love, and gentle reassurance. Once he feels safe, he will gladly curl up in your lap, soak up attention, and shower you with affection.   He is good with other dogs, though sometimes a little bossy at first—likely a habit from his uncertain past—but he quickly backs down once he feels secure. Grant is mostly housebroken and does well in a home without a crate. He is a climber and clever little adventurer, so confining him isn’t the best idea. He thrives when allowed to move freely, and he won’t tear anything up.   Grant is a small dog with enormous potential to become a loving, devoted companion for the right person. He is ready to blossom in a home that will give him the patience and affection he deserves, one cozy, comforting day at a time.   To make Grant a part of your life, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Please include your city and state.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 17, 2026, 9:14 pm

Story
Meet Gideon – A Little Dog With a Very Big Heart ❤️   Chihuahuas are one of the most beloved breeds in America, and it’s easy to see why. Their tiny bodies hold enormous personalities and tender, devoted hearts. They don’t require much space, they don’t eat much, but the love and companionship they give in return is truly immeasurable. When a Chihuahua bonds with their person, it becomes a lifelong partnership filled with loyalty, comfort, and affection.   Gideon’s story began in a home that simply had too many dogs and not enough care to go around. Along with many other Chihuahuas, he ended up in a small rural Tennessee shelter, frightened and unsure of what the future held. Thankfully, rescue stepped in, and now Gideon is ready to find the stable, loving home he deserves.   Gideon is a handsome red Apple Head Chihuahua mix, possibly with a little Feist in him, which gives him a slightly sturdier build and a touch of athleticism. He is about 5 years old and weighs around 14 pounds, making him the perfect compact companion.   This sweet boy is looking for a person to love and protect. Gideon forms deep bonds and wants to be someone’s loyal little shadow. His past environment was chaotic, living among more than 15 other Chihuahuas, so what he needs most now is consistency, patience, and a devoted adopter who will give him the stability he’s been missing.   Gideon is surprisingly athletic and clever. He’s not a fan of being confined and has been known to scale baby gates with impressive agility! He much prefers being free to explore his home and yard alongside his person.   Despite his adventurous side, Gideon is also a snuggle expert. He loves kisses, cuddling close, and soaking up affection. He can be a little bossy with other dogs at times — a habit he likely developed while navigating his former crowded home — but his heart is full of love for his people.   He enjoys spending time outdoors, strolling around the yard, and stretching out in a sunny spot to relax. His size and adaptable nature make him a wonderful fit for apartments, condos, or smaller living spaces.   If you’re searching for a loyal companion who will adore you, comfort you, and share life’s quiet moments, Gideon could be the perfect little best friend you’ve been waiting for.   To learn more or to adopt Gideon, please contactCritter Cavalry Rescue at: ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 17, 2026, 9:14 pm

Story
Calm Cocoa is one of those shy and chill type of Chihuahua girls that barks only when she hears a new sound that isn't supposed to be there and whose biggest desire is to lay on the sofa near her person or sit on their lap for the longest of times.  This sweet girl that always has a smile, is golden not only in color but also in character and personality.  She is a 'character' as they say and she just a few things she does in her day.   She loves to go outside on the leash to do her business and then quickly come back inside and head straight to the comfort of 'the sofa. '   Calm Cocoa does not like to use a pee pad so don't count on that as a back up. It is outside or her own inside choice if you aren't attentive to her needs.  She doesn't need a crate and she is the kind of girl that embraces all other dogs and even the 3 cats in her foster home are welcomed friends.  She is a loving girl and will give you kisses all day.  At just 12 years of age and 10 lbs. this girl would be up for a short walk daily and definitely wants to be with someone as much as possible.  She rides beautifully in a car and would welcome her own Princess Throne car seat to ride in.   She would be a great Chihuahua Ambassador to show that the breed can have a warm smile, some great kisses and of course the best devotion and love that you could ever order up in life.  Just think, you could have your very own mix of Kind Cocoa every morning when you wake up!  How about that????? Just email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   Tell us where you live, city and state.    Health Status is outstanding:  She has had a senior bloodwork panel, dental, oral surgery, tumor removal and benign biopsy report, spayed, all shots and heartworm done and clear fecal.  She is top to bottom healthy as a 'horsefly'.
