Story
Dobby was picked up as a stray by his local shelter.  He warms up slowly, but when he knows you he likes to be petted and will sit on your lap. He will keep you entertained when he  dances on his hind legs to get a treat.  He is great little dog and deserves a wonderful home so that he will never have to worry again about being safe, or where his next meal will come from.   ##1790571##

Story
It would be hard to find a cuter puppy than our sweet Mary.  At two months of age she only weighed 3 pounds 7 ounces.  She had a pretty rough start.  Her pregnant mom was dropped off at a house in the country and gave birth one week later.  Mary is a special needs dog because she needs someone that can be with her most of the time.  She just Loves to be held.  Her vet thinks she has some neuroligic issues.  Sometimes she will keep walking in circles over and over.  If you pick her up and hold her she will usually calm down.  She is great around other pets but we don't think a home with young children would be best for her.  If you really want some Puppy Love, please inquire about Mary! ##1995051##

Story
Meet Annie YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS. Meet Annie, an adorable 7 or 8 year old Chihuahua weighing 7.6 pounds. Annie has had a challenging past, having been rescued from a rural county shelter along with seven other dogs. Despite her rough start, Annie is a sweet and playful little companion, ready to bring joy to her forever home. Personality: Annie is known for her sweet and playful nature. She enjoys chasing small tennis balls and playing with small toys. Her playful spirit makes her a delightful addition to any household. Compatibility: Annie gets along well with other nice dogs of any size. She would thrive in a home with canine companionship, making her an ideal addition to a family with existing dogs. Her friendly demeanor suggests that she can create lasting bonds with both humans and furry friends. Ideal Home: Annie's perfect home would have a secure fence, as she has an adventurous side. This will ensure her safety while allowing her to explore and play freely. In an ideal world, Annie would be accompanied by her buddy Leo, creating a perfect duo of canine companionship. Health Information: Annie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and is scheduled for a dental procedure to ensure her continued well-being. It's important to note that Annie, like so many Chihuahuas, has a luxating patella in one of her back legs. It doesn't slow her down, and she shows no signs of discomfort so it is not a problem. Adoption Considerations: Prospective adopters should be prepared for a playful and affectionate companion. Annie's adventurous spirit may require a secure environment to prevent any unplanned escapades. Additionally, her potential adopter should be comfortable with the fact that Annie has a luxating patella, although it doesn't affect her overall well-being at all. If you're looking for a charming and loving canine companion, Annie might be the perfect fit for your family! Adoption donation $250. Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet. HOW TO APPLY: 1. Go to www.lppnc.org 2. Click on the "Adoption Application" link on the left side of the page. 3. The application will open as a PDF and you should have the ability to fill it in from that page. Be sure to complete all fields. 4. Save the application to your computer, then attach in an email and send to petprojectnc@gmail.com 5. Someone will review your application as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours, and will be in touch with next steps.

Story
Crystal is a 6 yr old Pomeranian mix who weighs 7 lb. Crystal is spunky and energetic. She's a snuggler and affectionate and enjoys walking and sleeping in the bed with her foster parents. This friendly, happy Pom mix could be an only dog or have another small dog in the home, but she's really about her people. Any other dog in the home will need to be under 10lbs. She has mastered leash walking and doing well on housetraining.   Crystal had a visit to the cardiologist who identified via an ultrasound a heart murmur due to mitral valve disease and put her on Vetmedin. Crystal will need to be on this medication for the rest of her life and should receive cardiology checkups once a year or sooner if something changes. She has no outward signs of heart issues at this time but will benefit from Vetmedin (which slows the progression of heart enlargement and produces a good quality of life).  Although Crystal is asymptomatic for heart disease, whoever adopts her will have to be vigilant and watch for any possible progression of heart disease and be able to afford Vetmedin (which she will need to be on for the rest of her life) and heart check-ups.  Heart disease is not uncommon in small dogs, so please read up on it and research the cost of Vetmedin.  Crystal is on Vetmedin 2 times/day.   Her outlook is good with weight control and Vetmedin. Crystal will come with 2 bottles of Vetmedin. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 1.5 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee:  $500July 24, 2024, 4:40 am
