Story
Meet Annie YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS. Meet Annie, an adorable 7 or 8 year old Chihuahua weighing 7.6 pounds. Annie has had a challenging past, having been rescued from a rural county shelter along with seven other dogs. Despite her rough start, Annie is a sweet and playful little companion, ready to bring joy to her forever home. Personality: Annie is known for her sweet and playful nature. She enjoys chasing small tennis balls and playing with small toys. Her playful spirit makes her a delightful addition to any household. Compatibility: Annie gets along well with other nice dogs of any size. She would thrive in a home with canine companionship, making her an ideal addition to a family with existing dogs. Her friendly demeanor suggests that she can create lasting bonds with both humans and furry friends. Ideal Home: Annie's perfect home would have a secure fence, as she has an adventurous side. This will ensure her safety while allowing her to explore and play freely. In an ideal world, Annie would be accompanied by her buddy Leo, creating a perfect duo of canine companionship. Health Information: Annie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and is scheduled for a dental procedure to ensure her continued well-being. It's important to note that Annie, like so many Chihuahuas, has a luxating patella in one of her back legs. It doesn't slow her down, and she shows no signs of discomfort so it is not a problem. Adoption Considerations: Prospective adopters should be prepared for a playful and affectionate companion. Annie's adventurous spirit may require a secure environment to prevent any unplanned escapades. Additionally, her potential adopter should be comfortable with the fact that Annie has a luxating patella, although it doesn't affect her overall well-being at all. If you're looking for a charming and loving canine companion, Annie might be the perfect fit for your family! Adoption donation $250. Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet. HOW TO APPLY: 1. Go to www.lppnc.org 2. Click on the "Adoption Application" link on the left side of the page. 3. The application will open as a PDF and you should have the ability to fill it in from that page. Be sure to complete all fields. 4. Save the application to your computer, then attach in an email and send to petprojectnc@gmail.com 5. Someone will review your application as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours, and will be in touch with next steps.

Story
Fattycakes is 14 years old...he is bonded with his 15 year old sibling...she's a wiener terrier mix...very sweet, calm and loving...she tolerates young children, but I'd rather her not be around them...she's pretty much a couch potato lol...she love's attention and back rubs...he's a little feisty but once he gets to know you, he's very sweet and loving...he doesn't get along well with young children but he's fine with older...he's not much of and outside dog but he does like to run around in an open space...he's crate trained...he loves lots of attention and he likes to go on car rides...please let me know if you need additional info...Thank you❤️

Hi!  My name is Juan, an Chihuahua mix.  My vet estimated year of birth is 2013, but don't let that influence you. I may be a little older, but I'm a great pup and would make someone a wonderful companion.  I was rescued from a hoarding situation along with my brothers and sisters.  I'm looking for a forever home where I can relax and be the lap puppy I was meant to be.  I'm low key.... a little timid, but really loving once I get to know you.  If you're interested, fill out an adoption form for me and someone will get in touch with you for a meet and greet. ~Adoption donation $150 . All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and neutered. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Story
Because Pinto is not a dachshund, we need your help. If Pinto isn’t a fit for you, we need your help. Please share this post with your friends, family and on local FB groups. Its very possible his perfect family is looking for him somewhere else, because well, he’s not a dachshund. So let’s get his adorable guy in front of as many people as possible!     PintoChihuahua10 years old10 poundsFostered in Benson, NC (outside of Raleigh)  Short version: Sweet, friendly, dramatic, needs fenced yard, pee pad trained, leash trained, crate trained, kids only Pinto loves to climb into the lap of his person and stare lovingly into your eyes.  And his deep brown eyes will melt you – we promise! First, the elephant, well the Chihuahua in the room. We rescued Pinto and his two sisters (Sadie and Sassy) from a very full and rural shelter where they were facing euthanasia.  And we don’t leave family behind in a shelter to be euthanized – we have Proxy in our name just for cases like this. So that’s why we have our very own Chi – it’s not the first time and we are sure it won’t be the last. Pinto loves to snuggle and is super friendly with guests. He greets new people at his foster home with a tail wag and lets them pet him. He loves both men and women – he’s not specific at all – anyone who will give him attention. Pinto gets along with other dogs but would also be OK as an only dog. Cats are unknown but we can test and suspect he would be fine. Pinto got the memo that he’s an honorary dachshund – he loves to burrow in blankets. We keep meaning to get him a shirt that says Rufferee – Pinto will bark at the dachshunds if they bark at ant farts or people in the home in his self-appointed role as a referee. He’s got great manners – will wait his turn and be respectful. But if you have a treat – he does the most adorable dance and butt waggle. Pinto is pee-pad trained – he pees on the pad, but the poop doesn’t always make it on the pad, but it’s near it to make clean up easier. Without pee pads, he will have accidents – even when taken outside regularly. Now comes the catch. Pinto has 100 percent the Chi attitude! We haven’t seen quite the dramatic flair that Pinto has since we were middle school girls. And we are a dachshund rescue, so we are no strangers to drama. This little dude can bring the drama with a capital D when his boundaries are crossed. And his hill to die on is getting a harness or collar on him – once it’s on he’s fine – so he must have a fenced yard. He likes to kiss you, but gets pissed off if you give him kisses, for some bizarre reason. So he needs a family without kids under 12. Pinto is neutered, UTD on shots, had an extensive dental, had senior bloodwork, and is HW negative. He has a mild heart murmur that needs to be monitored. His new family will need to drive to Benson, NC to adopt him – no transports. We prefer to adopt within a 4 hour drive of central NC. To get the process started of bringing this dude home, fill out an application at www.doxiebyproxy.org/application. Yes, Pinto is a bit quirky. But aren’t we all? And if you listen to his boundaries, then this guy is going to be your best friend till the end of time. He’s sweet, spunky, and completely adorable! ##2012195##
