Story
Dozer is predominantly a chihuahua who was born on 8/30/13 and weighs 14 pounds. He came into our program with an injured eye that had to be removed. He is a sweet boy but also extremely protective of his "backyard". We would not recommend Dozer for a family with very young children or with very elderly adults. He will require an experienced dog owner. He is neutered, current on vaccines, negative for heartworms, and microchipped. If you are interested in Dozer please visit our website at www.tysorvet.net and click on the adoption tab. There you will find a link to our adoption application.

Story
Looking for another doggy addition to your family? Max, here might be what you're looking for! Max has so much to offer. He is an energetic, happy pup who would love a securely fenced home where he has lots of play and exercise, preferably with another dog for company (same size is best). He’s a very affectionate little guy who’s eager to take on all life has to offer, and is looking for an owner that can help him reach his full potential. He gets along well with his canine foster sisters/brothers (three chihuahuas and one dachshund) but not so much the feline variety as they are too fun to chase! He will eat and sleep in his crate, but does so well out of the crate. Loves to go for walks and holds himself very well! He is also very vocal when he plays and meets new people. All in all, I think that in the right hands, he will blossom into the most friendly and lovable pup! Slow introduction with men. One valuable thing about Max is that he loves to cuddle and sleep with you. He also follows you everywhere you go. Max just wants love and someone to love him. If you or someone you know might be a good fit for Max, please feel free to contact us with any questions and further information!

Story
This is Walter! Walter was found as a stray covered in fleas and very thin. He is currently hw negative, neutered, utd on all vacs and preventatives, and much healthier! He walks well on a leash, is mostly houae trained and rides well in the car. Walter is a sweet sweet boy who loves to cuddle, plays fetch, loves the sunshine and wants to be wherever his human is. Walter would do best in a home with one other submissive dog around his size. He loves having a friend to play with but he is a more dominant personality. He is currently in a home with cats and other dogs, and he likes the cats...maybe a little too much. He wants them to play and chases them when they run. It would also be recommended that his future family be familiar with the chihuahua personality. While Walter is actually very friendly with everyone in our family, he does seem partial to females, he is protective of his people(and his food), and is slow to warm up to new people coming into the home. I would not recommend him for small children. All our dogs/cats are vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, on preventions, and spayed/neutered if old enough. Story
Dobby was picked up as a stray by his local shelter.  He warms up slowly, but then he likes to give kisses, dance around on his hind legs and sit on your lap.  He is great little dog and deserves a wonderful home so that he will never have to worry again about being safe, or where his next meal will come from.  Dobby is being fostered near Fayetteville, NC,and will be adopted from that area.  For anyone interested, please go to our website at jansanimalrescue.org and fill out an application.  You will love this little dog! ##1790571##

Story
Leonard (chiweenie) has been our little buddy for over 6 years now. He won us over at first sight as the tiny little weenie dog dancing around at our local shelter. He's been by our side (or in our arms) through everything since. He's extremely loyal to his family and will have your back through the toughest times. We joke that he's a little security officer - always letting us know when he senses danger. He's suspicious of strangers at first (for our safety of course) but quickly warms up to them and will be in their lap getting loved on within 15 minutes. He wants nothing more than to lay on your lap or burrow under the blankets with you and cuddle (he's not a high-energy dog). We are heartbroken to need to rehome him but know that we're doing what's best for him as he has not adjusted well to our infant daughter. He would thrive in a home without small children that can give him the attention and environment that he needs.

Story
Foster notes, 9/19/23:Binky is a wonderfule, loving senior dog. She does not act her age at all! We have taken her on multiple mile+ hikes and she is still going strong at the end--she will even run with you if you want to. I haven`t seen how long that is good for but she will go as long as I can, which isn`t too far, lol.She gets along with our smaller pups. Sometimes, Binky and the one that`s her size will try to show dominance and get into little scuffles. But as soon as we tell them to stop they go in different directions and are good. We have also had her around cats and she pays them no mind at all. As far as small children, we don`t know because we haven`t had an opportunity to expose her to them, but she is partially blind and will jump if we make a sudden noise or move quickly around her. So a home with older, respectful children would be best. She is really a good senior pup!
