Story
Douglas aka "Dougie" may be 10 years old, but this little Chihuahua still has plenty of zoom left in his tiny toes! With a pep in his step and a tail that wags like it’s on a mission, Dougie loves his daily walks and is always ready for a little adventure. Dougie is currently living in a lively home with dogs, cats, and even rabbits—so he’s no stranger to a full house. He’s vocal (hey, someone’s got to speak up around here!) and isn’t shy about letting you know when dinner should be doubled or when someone new is at the door. He’s a pint-sized watchdog with a big personality! Despite his sass, Dougie is a total sweetheart who melts into your lap for cuddles and snuggles. He’s crate trained, happy to curl up in his cozy spot, and settles well when it’s time to relax once he's in a routine.  Recently, Dougie had a dental cleaning and had several painful teeth removed—he’s now rockin’ only four teeth, but feeling so much better. Because of this, he’ll need a soft or wet food diet going forward (he doesn’t mind one bit—have you seen how he begs for seconds?). Dougie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He’s looking for a loving home where he can be your little shadow, your couch buddy, and maybe your second dinner date. Ready to add some spice, sass, and snuggles to your life?Dougie is ready to meet you! Adoption Application: bit.ly/JLRadopt  ************************Dougie is located in a foster home. We are happy to coordinate a meet & greet for pre-approved adopters. To get started, please submit an adoption application at bit.ly/JLRadopt  Adoption process:Potential adopters complete our online application. From there, we contact them to continue the screening process including checking references, vet checks, and a personal phone interview. Upon completion, potential adopters are pre-approved. From there, potential adopters are put in touch with the foster parent(s) of the dog they are interested in adopting. If a specific dog is not in mind, admins will make suggestions based on who we feel will be good candidates for their home. We take the foster's opinions into high consideration when determining ideal fit for an adoption. Once the dog is determined to be a good fit for the adoptive home, the adopter is given advisement on decompression, training, safety gear, and future preventative vetting. The adoption contract is signed and adoption fee paid to finalize the adoption. ##2379556##

Story
Dexter is about 9 years old, potty trained, neutered and current on shots. He would be best in a home with someone who is not looking to take him around allot of people. He is protective meeting people at first but once he knows them he’s great. He gets along w other dogs once he’s had a chance to be around them. I use a bark collar for walks or if left in the yard because he will bark at everyone around him. He needs someone who will let him cuddle with them at night and wants a protector! I’ve had him his whole life so only rehoming if it’s a better living situation for him. Currently I’m gone so much for work and he’s stuck in our small rv all day.

Story
Our sweet boy Barney came from a very bad hoarding situation and was understandably a bit shook up at first. He has since started to warm up to his foster mom and is doing better each day. Timid at first, but if you give him a little time, he is your best buddy. If Barney looks like your boy, please read our adoption procedures and fill out our on line application Listed below is our adoption procedures for Clifford’s Army Rescue. We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Please note, these are recommendations and each application is evaluated individually as to what is best for the dog/pup you are applying to adopt. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Ladies, here is the man for you... he prefers women over the male species and is a typical chihuahua who is loyal to his person. He is good with dogs his size. He is around 7 years old and needs a loving home as he approaches his senior years. If you understand those sweet chi personalities and think Bo might be your man, please read on. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys.
