Story
Zeppelin is an adorable male butterscotch-and-white puppy whose Mom is 3/4 Chihuahua, 1/4 Pekingese, born on 11/27/2025. We have a photo of Dad to share, but no Idea of his breed mix. Mom and Dad did make some cute puppies, who have really loving personalities, and these will be the only ones as we paid to spay/neuter the parents. Zeppelin is a sweet boy who is being fostered with love, and a strong bond with humans. We expect him to be smallish to medium size when fully grown, and his big adoring eyes will stay the same. Zeppelin is started on vaccinations, and a rebate is available for neuter when he is old enough. Adoption fee $275. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina.     Optional transport is weekly.  After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.March 7, 2026, 12:51 pm

Story
**Meet Snoop — the tiniest lovebug with the biggest heart!** Snoop came to Clifford’s Army Rescue Extravaganza from our local shelter as a stray. He was covered in fleas, emaciated, and terrified. But this little fighter didn’t give up — and neither did we. After bloodwork at the vet, we discovered Snoop is diabetic. He now receives two insulin shots a day — one in the morning, one in the evening — and he’s thriving! About Snoop: - 8 years old, just 8 lbs - Diabetic, but doing great with daily care - Great with other dogs - Loves to be held like a baby and snuggle with his person - Active, affectionate, and full of personality Snoop is ready to be someone’s shadow, snuggle buddy, and best friend. He’s the kind of dog who makes every day sweeter. --- **Adoption Recommendations & Procedures** At C.A.R.E., we evaluate each application individually to ensure the best match for every dog. **Recommendations:** - Puppies: Children should be at least 6 years old - Small breeds (like Snoop): Children should be at least 8 - Herding/working breeds: Children should be at least 12 **Procedures:** - Must be 21+ to adopt - No adoptions to college students - Physical home visits only (within 2 hours of Shelby, NC) - Fenced yards required for certain dogs - Apartment living approved on a case-by-case basis - All current pets must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vet care - Adoption contract required — if you can’t keep the dog, they must return to the rescue **Adoption Fee:** $250 — includes all vetting, vaccinations, microchip, and neuter **Apply here:** [https://cliffordsarmyrescue.com/1423-2/adoption-application/](https://cliffordsarmyrescue.com/1423-2/adoption-application/)

Story
Ladies, here is the man for you... he prefers women over the male species and is a typical chihuahua who is loyal to his person. He is good with dogs his size. He is around 10 years old and needs a loving home for his senior years. If you understand those sweet chi personalities and think Bo might be your man, please read on. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home.
