Sassy is a nine-year-old female Chihuahua and weighs just 6.8 pounds. She's good with kids, dogs and cats but not house trained. If you have a heart for the seniors, Sassy is your girl. Medium playful energy. Owner surrendered with two other dogs when owner could no longer care for them.

Story
This post is for a bonded pair! They are a chihuahua/beagle (Nessie - black and white) and some other kind of chihuahua mix (Lochi aka Baby - black and tan). Both around 8 yrs old and very sweet. We would like them to go to a home together. They are currently trained on pee pads but I think they could easily be trained to go in a fenced in yard. They would do well with someone older or with someone who works from home (they love their people). I believe they are updated on shots and I know for sure they take flea/tick/heartworm every month. They belonged to my grandmother but she has recently had to go to a memory care facility. They are currently in my aunt’s care. They would come with just about everything you’d need for a dog - food, treats, harness, leash, toys, etc.

Story
Adoption Area: East Tennessee Annie needs: An active home -Children over 8 years old -Someone home part of the day to continue potty training -Someone committed to giving her a Phenobarbital twice daily to keep seizures controlled -ONLY TOPICAL FLEA/TICK PREVENTION, no oral preventives because of seizure history -No apartments/condos -Fenced yard -No cats Hi! My name is Annie! I am an active, smart 3 year old 10.8 lb female Chihuahua (possible MinPin) mix. I was surrendered by my owner for possible seizures. Turns out, I was having seizures, but the fine folks at SBRET know how simple that is to fix. Their vets put me on Phenobarbital twice a day and my seizures are now controlled. Phenobarbital is super affordable too. I take my medicine in a pill pocket with no problem at all. My new people need to be committed to giving me my medicine twice a day to keep me happy and healthy. See, easy peasy! I’ll be honest, I was pottying in the house when I first came to my foster home, but I am a very smart girl and my foster people have taught me that pottying in the house isn’t something dogs should do. My potty training is going very well as long I go out regularly. There may be some backsliding when I first get to my furever home, so I will need someone home part of the day to keep my potty training on track. I walk well on a leash too. I ride well in the car. I sleep in a crate at night in my foster parents’ bedroom but I imagine I would love to be snuggled in the big bed with my people too. I do not like being in a crate when my foster people leave the house though. It upsets me and I cry. My foster people have discovered I do better out of the crate and I even stopped having accidents while they are out! I love to run at top speed in the fenced yard and get my zoomies out. I like playing with all the toys in my foster house and even play fetch with them. I am very food motivated and could probably learn all sorts of cool tricks and good behaviors with someone with the time to teach me. I get along fine with the other dogs and cat in my house most of the time, but I will guard food. I love to snuggle next to my people on the sofa too, but I lap guard my humans from the other pets and my foster people are working on that with me as well. I respond very well to verbal corrections as well as praise. I absolutely LOVE my Mister Man (foster dad)! I follow him everywhere. He is the apple of my eye. My foster mom is cool too, but when my Mister Man gets home, I am beside myself with joy and am very vocal about it. I am a vocal little lady, I will talk back to you when you talk to me and I will sing along with you if you sing to me. I’m fun! No cats please. I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on my flea and heartworm preventatives. By the way, I cannot take oral flea/tick prevention due to my seizure history, I have to use the topical varieties. I am also up to date on my Rabies, Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella. My adoption fee is $175. I am a super smart, high energy little lady looking for her active furever people. Is it you who I’m waiting for?!!!
