Story
You never know what you might find in a cardboard box! These little cuties came to us after being rescued my a good samaritan from the side of the road. They are about 10-11 weeks old and weigh about 6-8 pounds. Their short little legs make us wonder if they are dashund mixes but any guess on breed would only be a guess! These boys are happy and friendly and sure to be a great addition to your family! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3 charitable, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
Aspen came from a very crowed rural shelter. He was so very scared in the shelter and the shelter was full, so his chances of making it out alive were very slim. So.....Augusta Dog adoptions pulled him along with 6 other dogs from that shelter. We have NO idea of his breed so we can only guess at it. We have no idea what breed he is. Best guess maybe some terrier...maybe some chihuahua....maybe some hound......maybe jack russell.....honestly maybe anything. It took several days for his foster mom to be able to touch him, but now he is doing fantastic. He has had a bath and enjoys playing with some of the foster dogs in his home. He seems to prefer dogs close to his size. He will need a patient person who will give him time to get used to them and then have lots of love to give him. He wants to be loved so badly. He seems to be housebroken and has learned to use the doggy door in his foster home. He is learning to walk on a leash and is doing great. He goes slowly and like to look around at things. Probably hasn't seen many things in his lifetime. To keep him safe and because of him being scared of things, a fenced in yard would be best. It doesn't have to be large - even though he does get the roomies sometimes. Aspen MUST have someone who understands scared dogs and will let them have their space and not force him to come to them. He will need some adjustment time when moving into a new home. Aspen is available with a pre approved application and a scheduled meet and greet.

Story
What a teenie, weenie Sprout! This pint sized cutie came to us from a shelter with the name "Hercules" so imagine our surprise when a 15 pound, bean sprout sprung off the transport van and into our arms! At four months old, this little guy is destined for big things! He's playful, confident and absolutely full of himself! Whether it's romping with a pack for of dogs who make him look more like a seed than a sprout or kicking it up at swimming lessions, this cutie is on the go! Sprout is looking for an ACTIVE family who has at least one other dog for him to play with. He will need someone who is willing to continue is house training and who is ready for the life long responsibility of pet ownership. Sprout is sure to pay you back with many years of love and lots of adventures! (We believe that Sprout may be a chihuahua mix and will stay rather small. However, breed and size when grown is only a guess when you get dogs with unknown histories.) Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3 charitable, foster based rescue.
