Story
Meet Gizmo, the powder-puff Chinese Crested dog who brings a spark of joy wherever he goes. This tiny dude with a larger-than-life personality is the epitome of fun-loving and goofy. Gizmo loves to sleep under blankets with his favorite humans, providing the coziest companionship. As a true velcro dog, he attaches himself to his favorite human. Famous for dancing in circles, skipping downstairs like a tripod, and howling cutely at sirens, Gizmo never fails to make everyone smile. While he enjoys his walks, he truly loves riding in his doggie backpack, taking in the world from a comfy perch. Gizmo is mostly potty trained, rides great in the car, and will jump right in. He loves tummy rubs and knows how to 'sit'. Gizmo is a superstar at the groomers, where everyone adores him, and he's just as well-behaved at the vet and dentist. This little charmer loves being on camera, always ready to make you laugh with his antics. Gizmo enjoys the company of adults and older children and is a friend to other dogs. He is curious about cats, often because they are larger than him. He can get a bit anxious and shake like any little guy, and he might mark if he feels threatened, but he will wear a doggie wrap when exploring new friendships. Gizmo wears clothes to protect his little bare back from sunburn and loves to cuddle in his favorite sweaters to keep warm during cold days. He loves to bask in sunshine, soaking up warmth and spreading happiness to all around him. He is a true companion pet and will provide more love than you can imagine. Gizmo is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##378867##

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Rory finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Rory | 1.5-Year-Old Chihuahua Mix | Tiny Body, Big Heart Rory is a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing in at just 12 pounds, with a handsome red-and-gold coat and a sweet, gentle soul. He’s still very much a work in progress when it comes to house training and is starting from scratch, so he’ll need a patient adopter who’s willing to help him continue learning the ropes. Despite that, he does well being left home for 6–8 hours with other dogs and settles in just fine overall. Rory enjoys going for walks, though his leash style has been lovingly compared to “walking a ping pong ball.” He has low-to-medium energy and is happy with short strolls, some playtime, and plenty of couch time afterward. He has shown positive interactions with dogs his own size and would likely enjoy having a similarly sized canine friend in the home. He hasn’t met cats or kids yet, and because he can be shy and a bit nervous, a calmer home—possibly without young children—may be the best fit. This little guy is playful, sweet, and very cuddly once he feels comfortable. He loves toys, especially plush squeaky ones, and is highly motivated by food, affection, and especially cheese. Rory responds well to structure and boundaries and is making progress, even if he’s not quite there yet. He’ll happily rest his head on you or roll over for belly rubs, soaking up all the love he can get. Rory’s ideal home is one with a yard, a patient family, and possibly another small dog to play with. With continued consistency, gentle guidance, and lots of reassurance, Rory is going to blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion who’s happiest curled up right next to you.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Neo finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Neo | 2-Year-Old Chihuahua Mix | Little Shadow with a Big Personality Neo is a 2-year-old, 13-pound black Chihuahua mix with a playful spirit and a whole lot of charm packed into a small body. He’s a sweet, cuddly boy who loves being close to his people—especially if that means snuggling under the covers, resting his head on you, or rolling over for belly rubs. Neo is friendly and affectionate at home and enjoys toys, chew bones, car rides, brushing, and prancing around like he owns the place. Neo is almost fully house trained and very close to being accident-free. He lets his foster know he needs to go out by whining. He does great when left home alone with other dogs in the house, even for longer stretches, and has had no issues with chewing or accidents. He may whine or bark briefly when people leave but settles down quickly. He is not currently being crate trained. On leash, Neo can feel stressed and is working through some leash reactivity. He may bark or growl when he sees other dogs, people, or wheeled objects while out walking. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, this is something that can continue to improve. Despite this, he does enjoy going for walks and has a medium energy level—happy with a couple of short activity sessions each day followed by plenty of couch time. Neo has positive interactions with other dogs and does well living with them. His relationship with cats is mixed—sometimes he’s fine, other times he may chase or bark, though there has been no aggressive or harmful behavior. He has not met children yet and hasn’t had much exposure to men so far. Neo responds well to structure and boundaries and knows commands like stay, wait, and no. He’s motivated by both food and affection and thrives when he knows what’s expected of him. Neo is looking for a loving home that understands small-dog energy and is willing to continue helping him build confidence on leash. In return, he’ll be a loyal, snuggly companion who sticks close and fills your home with personality.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Chikis #2 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Chikis #2 | 8 month old Chihuahua | Playful, Sweet, and Full of Joy Meet Chikis, a eight-month-old Wheaten-colored Chihuahua with a happy spirit and a heart full of love. This tiny girl is equal parts playful and snuggly—she adores romping around with her foster brother, wrestling, chasing toys, and then curling up for a nap beside him. She’s friendly, affectionate, and always eager to be part of the fun, even if she’s still a little shy at first. Chikis is learning all the basics of puppy life, including house training and leash walking, and she’s doing a great job with encouragement and consistency. She settles nicely in her crate after a few minutes and has been a perfect angel when left alone. She’s motivated by food, toys, and affection, making her a quick learner once she’s comfortable. This sweet pup has had positive interactions with larger dogs and cats, and while she hasn’t met kids yet, her loving and gentle personality suggests she could do well in many kinds of homes. Because she can be a little nervous at first, a calm and patient environment will help her confidence continue to bloom. Chikis does have a seizure disorder, but her anti-seizure medication keeps her completely seizure free, and she’s thriving under that care. She’s a happy, healthy, and playful young dog who just wants love, attention, and a family to call her own. With her cheerful prance, cuddly nature, and joyful energy, Chikis is sure to bring warmth and sunshine to any home lucky enough to have her.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth.
