Story
Romeo (left) is a wonderful little dog. He is very shy at first and will bark at new people or even growl, but don't believe him. He's all bark and no bite. If you give him a little time, maybe coax him with some treats, once he warms up he is just a ham and a complete joy to be around. Romeo wants to cuddle and play and will follow you around the house and become a little "Velcro dog". Anytime you sit down, this little guy will be by your side.  Romeo also has very good house manners. He has not had any accidents inside the house and he is a dedicated boy when it comes to behaving. He is very food-motivated and will certainly try his puppy eyes out but he isn't aggressive or rude. Romeo just wants to be loved and love you in return.  With other dogs, much like humans he just needs a little bit of time! His first day in his foster home he was very nervous, but once he adjusted to the new space he immediately played with his two foster siblings (Also chihuahuas/chihuahua mixes). He is very sweet and has not shown any aggression toward our other two dogs, and they now play and snuggle constantly.  He has also investigated our two Rabbits, but seems to be more afraid of them than interested. doesn't seem to have a huge prey drive or any aggressive tendencies.  While we have not seen Romeo with children or cats, we believe he would likely be similar to them as he is with people and dogs. Just takes a little time and patience but a very good boy as he warms up. Romeo needs time to warm up. I wouldn't say he's BAD with new people but Romeo needs a little tenderness and encouragement before his wonderful personality can shine through. At first, he will bark and growl and does not like to be reached for but with a couple of hours and some treats you can coax him out of his shell. Building trust early on with Romeo is key as he has not been very socialized with people, and we think his past experiences may not have been all that positive! We are introducing him to new people all the time and working on this and he is making progress even only a week in. Romeo is truly wonderful, don't let a slower introduction time deter you from this wonderful best friend.  ##1801277##

Story
Juliette is a wonderful little girl. Much like her bonded buddy, Romeo, she takes a little time to warm up, but once you get her out of her shell she's a great little dog. Juliette is a gentle soul and would love an owner who shares that same energy. She is a creature of comfort, cuddles, and kindness. In this big world, a lot can feel scary to this tiny little girl. Once she warms up she just wants to snuggle with you and be your best friend. She really needs a gentle hand and positive reinforcement as she's a little nervous and sometimes gets scared and will retreat to a safe corner until she feels better. Before you know it, you will be her safe person and she will retreat to you anytime she feels out of her comfort zone.  She takes a little while to warm up but don't let that deter you! She's an absolute snuggle bug. If you work from home or want a little friend who will always be by your side, she is absolutely your gal.  Juliette is fairly potty trained but with new environments and people, sometimes her fear is bigger than her commitment to make it outside. Once she warms up and learns her new space, she is happy to go outside and do her business. With some routine, comfort in her space,  and positive reinforcement, she will be a well-behaved, wonderful addition to your family.  With other dogs, Juliette is a little slower to warm up. She tends to be a little more nervous than her best friend, Romeo, and sometimes that translates to some growling and nipping to dogs she doesn't know. With controlled introductions, she will warm up! Within one week of meeting her foster siblings, she actually started playing! Occasionally she will guard her favorite person or food. With some training, she is already improving here.  Her and her bonded pair Romeo play constantly and are the best of friends.  Juliette got to meet two rabbits who were bigger than her and she showed no aggression, she mostly didn't know what these strange tall-eared dogs were and kept her distance.  We feel that Juliette would likely be okay with cats and children but those with kids will need to give her plenty of time and space to adjust, and keep in mind the wait is worth it! She just needs time as her introduction to this world has been a little scary for her.  Both of these dogs are wonderful and would make a fantastic addition to your home.  *Just like her buddy Romeo, I wouldn't say Juliette is BAD with new people but she is very fearful to start with and this often translates to some barking or growling, but usually it's just running and hiding. She is truly all bark and no bite.  With a few hours, some treats, and building trust she will come out of her shell more! Just give her time. Be gentle with her and yourself!  ##1801279##

Story
Tia is a sweet little girl.  She is timid when you first meet her, but warms as she gets to know you.  She gets along great with the other dogs in the house but can be a little protective of her stuff, but we are working on sharing.  She will get along with the cats, but she does like to play chase the cat if they dart past her.  And if the cats swat at her, she will walk the other.  She walks very well on a leash and really enjoys getting out for walks.  She listens well when told to leave something or other animal and when to stay.  She is potty trained and will go in her crate with some assistants.  She is a very lovable girl and will follow you everywhere. ##1801282##
