Story
Introducing, Gus Gus! Gus Gus is a year old and 8 lbs. He was surrendered with several other Chinese Crested type dogs from what we believe was a backyard breeding situation. Gus Gus is a social butterfly and total lovebug. If you have a lap, Gus Gus is your new best friend! He wants nothing more than to hang out on the couch and watch TV with his human. He doesn't understand walking on leash yet, but he is learning and will get it with time. If you are looking for a wonderful little companion, Gus Gus is your boy! *Gus Gus is neutered, up to date on vaccines, was given dewormer and monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.

Story
He is a purebred Chinese Crested hairless dog at 17 lbs (as a Chinese Crested, he has specific bathing/grooming needs). He has lived with us for 7 months, one child has become very allergic and has asthma. Laslo just turned 5; he is very healthy. He has been kept up to date on all vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. He eats both wet and dry food fine, even though he has mostly baby teeth. Per vet: teeth are healthy, not many adult teeth. Laslo is fairly low energy, but loves to go on walks, cuddle and snooze. He is good on a leash but he is a bit of a diva and dislikes the rain or snow. He is scared of cats, so will keep a respectful distance if they live in the house. Anxious in car rides. His original owner hand fed him as a puppy and treated him as a human baby. He became very attached to his original owner, started resource guarding her 2 yr old =a few bites. He has not tried to bite anyone in our home. He may thrive as the only dog in his new home.

These pups are in Washington, District of Columbia too!

Story
House trained: Mostly with an occasional accident Energy level: Medium Noise level: Quiet My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Coco is that shes just THE CUTEST tiny baby! Likes: Snoozing, dozing, lazing about, relaxing   Hi, Im Coco! My nickname is Coco Bean, because Im sweeter than chocolate, and as tiny as a baby bean! Im 7 pounds of love and cuteness, and Im so excited to find my forever family! As any distinguished Chihuahua does, I have some specific preferences. I like to be picked up in a certain way (dont worry, youll learn how), and I like to have my harness put on in a certain way, and I like to sniff certain smells on certain routes on my walks! Some might call me a diva, but my foster mom calls me a pint-sized bundle of cuddles and says that Im the best girl ever and so easy to take care of. I promise I really am! Just a few quick walks a day are all the exercise I need, and Im very laid back and well-behaved at home. Im even crate trained, and fine to stay home alone when my people go to the office. Im looking for a family who wants a snugglebug of a pup. I like to spend most of my time resting and napping, preferably in someones bed, with my humans close by. I do get the zoomies on occasion, and like to run around on the bed with my toys. But after a quick play break, its back to napping for me! If youre looking to add a whole bunch of sweetness with a little bit of spice to your life, I might just be your cup of teaerCoco!!! Apply to adopt me today! Coco has a luxating patella and is on heart medication. Please visit our website www.ruraldogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other dogs available for adoption!

Story
Meet Cheyenne — a delicate, dear-head Chihuahua with a heart as tender as her tiny 9-pound frame. At just three years old, she has already experienced more upheaval than any little dog should. She spent her life cherished by her mom, but when her owner became disabled and had to move in with friends, Cheyenne came along… only to be told she could no longer stay. It shattered her mom’s heart and left Cheyenne confused and frightened.   Cheyenne has lived a very sheltered, indoor life, and the changes of the past few months have left her understandably nervous. She needs time, patience, and a gentle hand to learn that her world can be safe again. Once she feels secure, she’ll quietly lean in, allow soft pets, and even offer a tiny kiss to show her trust.   This sweet girl isn’t demanding—she’s simply sensitive. She finds comfort in calm environments and absolutely needs another friendly dog in her new home. Having a canine companion gives her confidence and helps her settle. She loves cuddling with her dog friends, and in her foster home, her favorite cozy spot is tucked under a blanket where she feels warm and hidden.   Cheyenne is never aggressive or mean with other dogs, but energetic puppies are not her cup of tea—they’re a bit too lively for her peaceful spirit. What she truly wants is a patient, loving adopter who understands that trust is earned gently over time.   If you’re looking for a quiet, loyal little Chihuahua who will adore you once she knows she’s finally safe, Cheyenne may be your perfect match. With a secure, loving home, she will blossom into the devoted companion she’s meant to be.   Cheyenne is healthy, ready to go, and so deserving of her happily-ever-after.Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to meet this precious girl.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 14, 2025, 11:46 pm

Story
This special little one year old chihuahua is called Magic Maude.  And especially sensitive little girl, that somehow got just a little too round and is on a dedicated exercise in nutrition program to drop some weight.  Currently, she is eighteen pounds and we field that she would be best to be in the ten to twelve pound range as a goal.  She originally was in a chaotic home that animal control had to step in and take away 112 chihuahuas that we're living in the home.  An unfathomable amount of dogs that were not altered, but yet healthy.  When mod came to our rescue and was put in a foster home. She lay there in her crate for days very depressed and emotionally unresponsive.  She barely moved from the one spot she lay in.   Eventually, after almost two weeks, she perked up with the company of few other chihuahuas coming to join her in her large crate.  Soon she was going on walks with the foster. Mom and seemed to enjoy the freedom of being outside, taking in all the new sights and sounds of the neighborhood.  We know she had never been leash walked due to the overcrowding at her original home.  This girl is spayed and healthy and ready to start all over again. She wants love and we promised her a great family who will love her and take her for walks and treat her like the Magic Maude that she is.  She is currently in Nashville, Tennessee, and can be transported to the northeast region as well. Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue  at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  if you want to adopt or know more.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 7, 2025, 6:32 pm
