Meet Scooter – Your New Best Friend in the Making! Say hello to Scooter, a 5-month-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix (a.k.a. Chiweenie!) with soulful eyes and a heart ready to love. At just 9 lbs, Scooter is a compact little guy who will likely stay under 20 lbs full grown—perfect for snuggles on the couch or rides in your tote bag! Scooter came to us after being rescued from a large hoarding situation in Tennessee, where he lived among more than 100 other dogs. Since arriving in our care on May 31st, he’s already begun to bloom under the gentle care of his foster mom. While still a bit shy at first, Scooter warms up quickly and has already become her sweet “little chocolate shadow.” Despite his rocky start, Scooter has a gentle, loving temperament. He’s quiet, eager to please, and smart—he’s even showing signs of being housetrained, which is amazing for such a young pup! He loves chewing on dog toys and curling up next to the people he trusts, soaking in affection like he’s been waiting his whole life for it. With time, patience, and love, Scooter is sure to leave his chaotic past behind and grow into the confident, joyful dog he’s meant to be.
