Chester is a 1-year-old, 9-pound pup who came into the Calexico shelter as a stray. The shelter was overwhelming for him, so he moved into a foster home after about two weeks — and he’s been blossoming ever since. When Chester first arrived, he wasn’t used to human affection and preferred to hide. With patience, he’s learned to trust and now enjoys being close by. He still needs a calm, patient home that will give him the time and space he needs to feel safe. Chester is a sweet, curious little guy who loves the company of other dogs and even lives peacefully with two cats in his foster home. He especially thrives when he has a confident dog friend to show him the ropes — and to romp around with! One of Chester’s favorite things is going on walks. He’s also very food-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. He’s a smart boy who’s eager to learn once he feels comfortable. The ideal home for Chester is one that’s quiet and understanding, with a family willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace. With love and patience, Chester will reward you with loyalty, companionship, and lots of tail wags.

'Jack' Chihuahua male-6 yrs old, 7 lbsJack is a 7-lb,  6 yr old one-eyed Velcro pup who loves nothing more than snuggling under the covers with his person. When he came to us, Jack had been hit by a car and needed his eye removed and his fractured jaw repaired — but he has healed beautifully and is all heart. He’s sweet, sensitive, and settles after a little crying when left alone. Jack does great with small dogs but is not a fan of big dogs. He seems comfortable with kids and men; cats are unknown. He enjoys sunbathing, window-watching, and is still learning how to play with toys. Jack is potty trained but may always need a belly band due to periodic marking. 'RESCUED' (PUPPIES x8 ) at 9 weeks old BORN 5/03/25There are a mix of females and males ( 6 males and 2 females) We rescued the momma dog with her 3 day old puppies on 5/6/25. Momma is a Chiweenie but no idea what the father(s) were! Looks like maybe some spaniel though.  So it is a mystery on how they will turn out :)  'Hello, I am a young and curious puppy with a lot of love to give! I am very affectionate and love to cuddle up with my human friends. I am also very friendly. I am a very playful and funny and  love to make my human friends laugh. I am also a smart puppy and I am highly trainable. I was rescued along with my mommy and brothers and sisters when I was just 3 days old, My eyes were not even open yet!  My momma is a 13 lb Chiweenie. But I don't know what or who my daddy was. So I am a mix of different breeds, and I am sure I will grow up to be a a super doggy. I am just 9 weeks old, so I am still a baby and have a lot of energy. I would love to go to a forever home where I can get a lot of love and attention. If you are looking for a fun and furry addition to your family, look no further!
