Story
I’m Buddy — a 4-year-old Chiweenie and a sweet, shy little guy who came into rescue with my sisters after our dad passed away. I love my people more than anything in the world and will happily follow you from room to room, just to be close. Attention? Yes please. Snuggles? Absolutely. I get along well with other dogs and cats, so I can fit right into a family with furry friends. I’ve been working hard on my weight loss journey—I went from 30 pounds to 25 pounds and I’m ready to keep it up with walks and playtime. I have about 8 more pounds to lose. I’m used to having a fenced yard, and honestly, I’d really love one at my new home so I can safely run, explore, and soak up the outdoors. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who wants to love you as much as you love me, I might just be your perfect match. Let’s make it official—adopt me and I’ll be your sidekick for life! Buddy is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped. If you’d like to meet Buddy, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org. Questions? Email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must live within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption Fee: $300

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sophia is a 7-8 year old, super cute mixture of what we guess is dachshund mixed with something that gives her a little taller legs, so maybe a mini Australian shepherd? She's beautiful but quite shy. She will need some time to warm up to you, and she will need a safe space to go when she's feeling overwhelmed. A crate or space under a piece of furniture will do, she isn't too picky!   Sophia currently lives with other dogs and would do best with another small, calm dog. Big dogs and children can be a bit intimidating to her. Once she realizes you're not scary, she will hang out on the couch with you, happily watch tv, and enjoy getting pets and snuggles. She likes to know where you are and if you aren’t where she expects you to be, she’ll track you down  in the house to find you.    She enjoys being outside in the yard, doesn’t mind the rain and is mostly house trained. She will use pee pads in the house if they are available to her. She gets very excited for food, so you’ll have to be careful not to overfeed her because she has a tendency towards love handles (that are honestly adorable).   Sophia is very sweet, and she will need someone with patience who will allow her the space and time she needs for big adjustments. If you are looking for a low maintenance dog and have a quiet home, Sophia must be the dog for you! Sophia's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations and prevention, plus a free basic training class at Cedar Run #2 in Hiawatha. Last Hope requires all animals to be kept as indoor only pets and that adopters have a history of keeping pets altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes a background check, vet history check, and a home visit. If you would like to meet Sophia please submit an adoption application for consideration through our website, www.adopthope.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 21, 2025, 3:59 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello, my name is Bo, but you can call me Mr. Wonderful or something else but don't call me late for dinner. Are you ready to meet me? I'm a wonderful dog that likes going outside and for walks. I need a fenced in yard because I like to chase things like the bunny that is usually in my neighbor's yard.  I don't think I would like living with rambunctious kids, but adults with a quiet home would suit me well. If you want to sit back and watch TV, I'm right there sitting next to you. I like treats and I’ve loved going to doggie daycare to make new friends. I’ve also worked with the trainer to learn some new skills, I’m happy to do anything for a treat! Bo's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives.  If you would like to meet Bo, please submit an adoption application through our website Adopthope.org.  Last Hope requires that adopters have a history of having kept animals as indoor pets only, altered and kept current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 11, 2025, 7:15 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mildly collapsing trachea dx 9/24/25 Meet Rommy, a 10 year old dachshund with a heart full of love and a mission to be your shadow. He's the definition of a "Velcro dog" - where you go, Rommy will be right behind you, ready to offer moral support during every family meeting, snack run, or Netflix binge. If you have some steps up to your sofa or bed, he'd love to join you for some cuddle time!   This little gentleman has a partially collapsed trachea, which just means walks are better suited with a harness instead of a collar. He is currently working on house training and lives in a foster home where a doggie door is used. While progress has been made, he's a short guy and the struggle to get through the dog door is real, so he'd just prefer that you open the door for him to preserve his dignity.   If you're looking for a snuggly lap dog who loves "uppies," endless companionship, and gentle affection, Rommy would be thrilled to meet you!   Rommy's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, and current vaccinations and preventatives. Last Hope requires that all animals be keep as indoor pets only and that adopters have a history of having kept their pets altered and current on vaccines and prevention. Our adoption process includes a background check, vet history check, and a home visit. If you would like to meet Rommy please submit an adoption application on our website, Adopthope.org.
