Annabelle – 7 Pounds of Love, With a Little Gazelle Mixed In!
Meet Annabelle, a tiny little girl with beautiful brown eyes, a sweet personality, and the speed of a miniature gazelle! We know she's part Chihuahua, but we're pretty sure the other half is something sleek, fast, and built for Olympic-level sprints. Is there such a thing as a miniature gazelle? If not, Annabelle might just be the one who inspires us to invent one!
Annabelle is 2 years old and weighs just 7 pounds. She came to us after being left at a local animal shelter and has settled into her foster home like a pro. She needed just a few hours to observe, take in her new surroundings, and decide everything was going to be okay. That's Annabelle's style. She's an easygoing little girl who doesn't need a lot of fuss to feel at home.
She's housetrained, although her tiny bladder means she needs frequent potty breaks. You know the saying: tiny dog, tiny bladder! She's also crate trained, but she really doesn't need to be kenneled. She does well with other dogs and could enjoy having canine companions, provided they are under 30 pounds. Those little legs and delicate bones aren't built for roughhousing with the big dogs!
Annabelle enjoys playing with little stuffed dog toys, but her favorite activity is simply being close to her people. Being a tiny Chihuahua girl, she appreciates all things warm and cozy. A lap is wonderful, but add a soft blanket and you've created her own little slice of heaven. At bedtime, she loves sleeping with her human, tucked under the covers and snuggled right next to a warm body. Who needs a heating pad when you have Annabelle?
And if you're worried about the reputation that little dogs have for barking at everything, Annabelle may surprise you. Her foster has only heard her bark a handful of times, and those occasions were simply when she decided to join the other dogs in their barking festivities. She's definitely not a yippy little alarm system!
One look into Annabelle's beautiful brown eyes and you may find yourself completely smitten. She has that special way of making eye contact that just melts your heart. That's the power of a tiny dog! Before you know it, you're wrapped around her little paw, rearranging your blankets and making room for her on the couch.
Although Annabelle loves her cozy indoor life, she also has a playful, athletic side. She enjoys doing little sprints and leaping around like a jackrabbit. We'd love for her to have a physically fenced yard where she can safely show off her miniature gazelle moves. She will also potty on a leash, so a fenced yard isn't an absolute requirement.
Annabelle is looking for a home where she can be loved, spoiled, kept warm, and included in everyday life. If you have room in your lap, under your blankets, and in your heart for 7 pounds of adorable, Annabelle might be your girl!
Annabelle is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
