Story
Honey came from a high kill shelter in 2024 & was adopted by a family who had 2 kids after adopting her. She didn't adjust well to having kids in the house, & was surrendered to us to be fostered temporarily. While she's great in our home, she isn't doing well w/ living in a high traffic area w/ constant noise outside & not having a place to go to the bathroom or on walks without seeing other people + dogs.She's sweet w/ her people, but takes time to adjust to new people & build trust. She has a tendency to growl, bark, & occasionally lunge at new humans in her space, but she has been okay as long as new people give her a very slow introduction. It's best if Honey isn’t brought into other homes with other people—that seems to scare her. On leash, Honey doesn't do well w/ people running past her, & barks/jumps at other dogs.She's an incredibly loving dog who'd do GREAT in a quiet home w/ someone who works from home often, no kids, & very few visitors. She loves snuggles under blankets.

We have a confession to make… We’re not exactly Chihuahua people 😬 Little dogs have just never really been our thing. Unfortunately, these guys did NOT get the memo. They’re funny. They’re sweet. They’re ridiculously cool. And against our better judgment, we actually really like them. So if you’ve ever said, “I’m not really a Chihuahua person…” Yeah. Neither were we. Come meet them. And if you ARE a Chihuahua person, you don't stand a chance. These dogs will be your kryptonite. Peewee, male. 2 years old. 8-10 pounds. Has done great with the other small dogs and with 3 polite large dogs. Gets picked up by kids. Crated during day. CAN climb fences, needs to be on a leash outside. Listens, comes to you when called. Snuggly. House trained, uses doggy door (with supervision due to fence climbing). Isn't afraid of goats or horses...

Solomon is house broken and loves to sit and watch people out of the front door and windows.  He loves being outside and loves walks in the park and around the neighborhood.  Solomon does not tear things up like mail, toilet paper, socks, or trash.  He also loves to cuddle and be rubbed.  Solomon hates baths and water but I give him a bath anyway telling him that he has to be clean. He loves treats and his favorite treat is duck wrapped sweet potato from Wal Mart.  Solomon loves bones and his favorite toy is Lamb Chop or any bear that he can tussle with.   Solomon does growl sometimes when he sees other dogs and cats. He also runs after birds if he sees them and barks. Slow introductions are needed with dogs, cats, and children. From his caretaker: 'Marvin is very sweet, but skiddish at first. He barks when excited or when someone is at the door. He is a great lap dog and if you give him belly rubs, he'll be your best friend. Marvin loves going on walks and hikes. Marvin would thrive in a home without small children/toddlers, but is ok wih older children. He is usually okay with other dogs, but may take a while to warm up. He can be a bit territorial with his food, but only to other dogs. He's never bitten me. He had an accident with one of his claws as a young dog and has been very scared of getting his nails trimmed ever since. No medical issues that I know of.
