She is quite possibly **one of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet**. Once Lilly trusts you, she loves deeply and wants nothing more than to be close to her person. But there is something important her future family needs to understand: **Lilly is scared. Really scared.** New people, unfamiliar places, sudden movement, noise, and changes in her surroundings can overwhelm her. Her first instinct is not aggression—it is to **run, hide, and make herself disappear until she feels safe**. That means Lilly does not need someone who expects her to become their best friend in five minutes. She needs someone patient enough to let **her decide when five minutes becomes five days—or five weeks.** And when she finally comes to you on her own? That trust will mean everything. Lilly would do best in a **quiet, predictable home** with adults or calm older children who understand that frightened dogs cannot be rushed. A securely fenced yard and careful handling around doors would be especially important because a frightened little dog can bolt before anyone realizes what happened. She doesn't need somebody to “fix” her.

We have a confession to make… We’re not exactly Chihuahua people 😬 Little dogs have just never really been our thing. Unfortunately, these guys did NOT get the memo. They’re funny. They’re sweet. They’re ridiculously cool. And against our better judgment, we actually really like them. So if you’ve ever said, “I’m not really a Chihuahua person…” Yeah. Neither were we. Come meet them. And if you ARE a Chihuahua person, you don't stand a chance. These dogs will be your kryptonite. Zoey, supposedly 1. The most cuddliest of all. Squirmy when held but loves clothes. Kids pick her up. Chased the big puppy on day 1 but now they are friends. Uses doggy door and goes potty outside, comes when called. Really loves attention. Will jump into your lap while eating (ok, bad habit, we know, but big dogs don't do this so we find it hysterical). IF you wanted 2 we recommend her and Lola. She is the medium sized one, maybe 7 ish pounds.

She does great with friendly big and little dogs. Does well with kids but runs when they try to pick her up. Will jump in your lap for snuggles. *Possibly* the calmest of the group. Is in a playpen with Zoey during the day. Uses doggy door and comes when called.

Snuggly. House trained, uses doggy door (with supervision due to fence climbing). Isn't afraid of goats or horses...

Honey came from a high kill shelter in 2024 & was adopted by a family who had 2 kids after adopting her. She didn't adjust well to having kids in the house, & was surrendered to us to be fostered temporarily. While she's great in our home, she isn't doing well w/ living in a high traffic area w/ constant noise outside & not having a place to go to the bathroom or on walks without seeing other people + dogs.She's sweet w/ her people, but takes time to adjust to new people & build trust. She has a tendency to growl, bark, & occasionally lunge at new humans in her space, but she has been okay as long as new people give her a very slow introduction. It's best if Honey isn’t brought into other homes with other people—that seems to scare her. On leash, Honey doesn't do well w/ people running past her, & barks/jumps at other dogs.She's an incredibly loving dog who'd do GREAT in a quiet home w/ someone who works from home often, no kids, & very few visitors. She loves snuggles under blankets.

Dodger is a young dog who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. Found as a stray and never reclaimed, Dodger arrived very scared and unsure of what to expect. He is sensitive to touch and will communicate when he has had enough of an interaction, so respecting his boundaries is especially important. Once Dodger feels comfortable, though, we get to see a completely different side of him, a playful, silly young dog who is still discovering his confidence. At just a year and a half, we don't know what his past looked like, but it's clear that he didn't have all the socialization and experiences he needed early on. Dodger's ideal home will be quiet and adult-only, with someone who is patient, willing to put in the work, and able to meet him where he is. His adoption process and meets will look a little different than a typical shelter meet, and any potential adopter should be prepared for continued management, structure, and confidence-building. The good news? Dodger has so much potential. He needs someone willing to understand him, respect his communication, and show him that he doesn't always have to be on guard.
