Story
Approximate Birthdate 8/27/22 Title: Carl Dean: A True Southern Gentleman Seeking His Forever Leading Lady Hi y'all! I'm Carl Dean! I am a Dachshund mix, weighing in at a perfect, lap-sized 17 pounds. I know I'm a good looker, and I'm searching for that special lady who will "Always Love Me!" I had a bit of a rough start in life, but thanks to the wonderful folks from Shelter To Home Rescue, my health is fully restored, my coat is looking handsome, and my spirit is shining bright. I am fully fixed, vaccinated, and even had a fresh dental cleaning. I am officially happy, active, and ready for my happily-ever-after! My Perfect Match I am a fiercely loyal companion, but I am a sensitive soul who is fearful of the big, loud world. I am looking for a very specific forever home where I can truly thrive: A Quiet Haven: I need a peaceful, low-traffic home without a lot of visitors coming and going. A retired woman or a quiet household where someone is home most of the day would be my absolute dream. The Only Prince: I want to be your one-and-only love! I need a home with no other dogs or cats. A Standalone Home (No Apartments/Condos): I have some separation anxiety and will bark non-stop to let the world know I miss you when you're gone. Because of my loud vocal styling, shared walls are a no-go. My Favorite Things Once I know I am safe with you, my true personality comes alive. I love to be right by your side, giving love, receiving head scratches, and keeping you company throughout the day. I am happy, playful, and will reward your patience with a lifetime of deep devotion. If you have a quiet home, a patient heart, and plenty of time to spend together, I promise to be the most loyal, loving gentleman you've ever met. Please include your phone number in case our emails go to spam/junk mail.**All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**November 8, 2026, 12:28 pm
