Tigress is well-behaved, house trained, and leash trained, and she truly enjoys her daily walks.   At home, she’s a total love bug. Story
Name: Lady Jane Age: 5 years Gender: Female Breed: Beagle / Dachshund Mix Weight: 46 lbs Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: testing available upon request Child Friendly: Yes House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Working on it, prefers to be left out  Energy Level: Low Temperament: Sweet, watchful, quiet, polite Requirement: Not rental  appropriate   Adoption Fee: $375+tax To adopt, go to:  http://www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html Meet Lady Jane - a true lady if there ever was one! Lady Jane will melt your heart with her beautiful brown eyes and eagerness to be by your side. It took her a bit to realize that she was on a new journey and not just a sleepover, but she is happy to be part of a pack and not alone in a crate.  Lady Jane came to us from a family that included her daughter and a third dog as well. It’s obvious she enjoyed being surrounded by lots of loving animals and family. She’s house-trained, praise-motivated, and has excellent house manners. She whines the tiniest bit and might paw at you when she needs to go outside. She prefers to know her people are nearby, but is OK for small amounts of time with just her foster brother for company.  She likes to explore the yard, and sometimes will just sit on the porch to take it all in. She barks just enough to let you know she’s excited to meet new folks! From Lady Jane: “My favorite place to lounge is my own lofty bed since I am unable to jump on the couch.  I enjoy going on walks and love checking out all the new smells! I scout the yard for bunnies and would probably follow my nose wherever it would lead me! The biggest challenge I have is being alone. I’m OK with my foster brother when the people leave the house, and am working on being OK in the kennel little bits at a time.  With help from my foster family I’m getting used to my improved diet and going up and down longer flights of stairs.”     February 9, 2026, 3:16 pm

Story
Name: Charlie Age: 15 years   Gender: male Breed: Chihuahua (Tea Cup) Weight: 6.32 lbs Dog friendly: yes  Cat friendly: testing available upon request Child friendly: yes, older (teenage) calm gentle children, please House trained:  yes Crate trained:  yes Energy level: low Temperament: calm, feisty, devoted, mighty, snuggly  Adoption Fee: $50+tax To adopt, go to: www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html About Me – From My Foster Family: He may be a super senior, but this tiny legend still runs the household — mostly from the comfort of your lap. Charlie was surrendered with his two housemates due to a change in his owner’s housing situation. Though it was a difficult goodbye, Charlie has brought so much personality and joy into our home. He may be tiny and petite, but don’t be fooled — this little guy is packed full of spunk! Charlie is equal parts sass and sweetness. He knows exactly what he wants (a lap), and he isn’t shy about it. If he’s happily snoozing on you and you dare to shift positions? Expect a tiny grumble of protest — how could you possibly disturb royalty at rest? Charlie has quickly become my little shadow. He toddles along behind me and will politely (and sometimes not-so-politely) remind me when it’s time to sit down so he can resume his rightful place on my lap. If a lap isn’t available, he’s content to relax in his crate, where he sleeps peacefully at night and often chooses to nap during the day. He is potty trained on a schedule and does well with routine. More than anything, Charlie would thrive in a home where his person is around more often than not — someone who appreciates a constant companion and has a warm lap ready for duty. If you’re looking for a tiny best friend with a big personality and an even bigger love for snuggles, Charlie is your guy. About Me – From Charlie: Hi. I’m Charlie. Some people say I’m feisty… I prefer “confident and clear about my needs.” And my needs are simple: You sit down. I get on your lap. You hold me, pet me, and admire me. That’s it. That’s the whole plan. Give me a cozy lap and a little affection, and I’ll be the happiest (and cutest) little shadow you’ve ever had.      February 27, 2026, 9:25 pm
