Story
Meet **Schwinn** — the tiniest little Chihuahua with a story that fits his name perfectly. This scruffy, wiry 5-pound cutie was first spotted in Mexico chasing after a man riding a bicycle. Sadly, the man wouldn’t stop for him, and when approached later, he admitted the dog was his but said he didn’t want him. Thankfully, Schwinn’s journey took a better turn when a rescuer stepped in and gave this little guy the second chance he deserved. Now safe and loved, Schwinn has proven to be the sweetest little lap dog you could ask for. His favorite place to be is curled up on your chest or snuggled close by your side. He forms a strong bond with his person and is incredibly loyal — your tiny shadow who just wants to be wherever you are. Schwinn gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and is truly just the cutest little guy. At barely 5 pounds, he’s the definition of a pocket-sized companion. Because he loves his person so much, he can be a little sneaky at the door and will try to follow you everywhere, so adopters will need to keep an eye on him when coming and going. He is still working on his potty training and will need a patient adopter to continue helping him learn that outside is the place to go. This Minnesota snow is not helping. If you’re looking for a tiny, loyal cuddle buddy with a big personality, Schwinn may be your perfect match. Apply to adopt at **campcompanion.org**. Adoption fee is **$350 plus tax**.

Story
Meet Vivi! Vivi was found as a stray and ended up in animal control before coming to rescue. She is estimated to be around 10 years old, but she definitely didn’t get the memo—Vivi has plenty of energy and a tail that seems to wag nonstop. She’s a happy, curious girl who loves to be part of the action. If something moves, Vivi wants to check it out! She enjoys playing and still has a fun, youthful spirit. Vivi is a smart girl who knows “sit” and understands “no.” She appears eager to please and is learning that calm behavior earns attention and pets. She’s quiet in her kennel, keeps it clean, and has not been destructive in her foster home. After a couple of initial accidents (normal when adjusting to a new home), she’s doing well going potty outside. Vivi has met the resident dog in her foster home and did fine, but she can be a little enthusiastic and barky and is still learning doggy boundaries. Because of this, she will need slow introductions with other dogs. Vivi can also be a little sneaky around doors, so adopters will need to be careful when coming and going. She should not be off leash unless in a securely fenced area, as she does enjoy running. She is not a fan of small squeaky fast-moving kids but older kids are ok. Vivi is not a fan of apartments and wants to protect her owner so will bark at strangers. A house with a fenced yard is best for Vivi. If you think Vivi might be the right fit for your home, please apply at www.campcompanion.org . Her adoption fee is $350 plus tax.

Story
Fred the Headrest: Part-Time Goof, Full-Time Lover Hi, I’m Fred… aka your new favorite accessory 💛 At around 2 years old, I’m the perfect mix of playful pup and professional snuggler. I’ve got the heart of a puppy and the soul of a couch potato. I am 27 lb. My love language? Gentle little puppy nibbles (you know, the “I love you” kind) followed by lots of kisses. And when I say I love to cuddle… I mean it. I don’t just enjoy snuggles—I commit to them. I’ll find any way to be close to you, including sleeping on your shoulder… your chest… or even your head. Honestly, I identify as a weighted blanket. When I’m not perfecting my snuggle skills, I enjoy the occasional zoomie session—but let’s be real, my true passion is couch potato life right next to my human. I do really well in my crate but I would rather be out next to my human. Car rides? I love them! My foster mom’s put me in a crate in the car to bring me home and I fell asleep! I do amazing with other dogs, especially ones my size, and I’m always up for a good wrestling match! Bigger dogs can make me a little nervous at first, so I might bark if I’m startled (no surprise parties, please). But give me a few minutes and I warm up quickly—then it’s game on and I’m ready to play. I am potty trained but had one accident in my foster mom's house but once I figured out what door I needed to go to and sit at to let my foster mom know I needed to go I was good! I’m not sure how I do with cats or kids as there are none that I’ve come into contact with but my foster moms house says I’m so friendly and snuggly she doubts there will be a problem. But new things can scare me a bit so easing into it would be best! My journey started in Oklahoma, where I was rescued from a kill shelter alongside Barney and Wilma (don’t worry—we’re not a package deal). We were strays running together. Now I’m ready for the best upgrade yet: a forever home. My dream home? I’m looking for a cozy, loving home where snuggles are a top priority and personal space is optional. I’d do great with a laid-back family who enjoys a mix of playtime and couch time. A fenced-in backyard where I can safely run and enjoy some zoomies would be ideal, but I also love walks and I’m leash trained. A dog my size to wrestle with would be a bonus, and slow introductions to bigger dogs help me feel comfortable and confident. Most importantly, I’m hoping for a home where I can stay close to my people and be their loyal, goofy cuddle buddy. I ignore cats and am good with kids as well. Warning: adopting me may result in excessive cuddling and loss of personal space. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.
