Story
Meet Coffee!
Coffee may not have had the greatest start to life while living in Mexico, but since arriving at Just Paws Animal Rescue, he has embraced his second chance with a wagging tail and a happy heart. His foster family is helping him learn the ropes, and every day he gains a little more confidence.
Coffee is not yet fully housetrained, but he is making progress and will need a patient family committed to continuing his training. He is content relaxing in his crate and would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore and play.
If there are children in the home, Coffee will be in his happy place. He absolutely adores kids and spends much of his day following them around with his tail wagging nonstop. Although he has yet to bark since arriving in foster care, he does let out a little whine when the kids leave for school—we think he misses his favorite people! The excitement he shows when they return home is enough to melt anyone's heart.
Coffee is also good with strangers. He is a gentle, more timid boy and can be a little shy when meeting new adults, so calm introductions are best. Give him a little time, sit down on the floor with him, and before long he'll be coming over for kisses and affection.
Coffee loves other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion, though it is not a requirement. He thrives on companionship and would do best with a family that won't leave him alone for long hours.
This sweet boy loves attention, affection, and being part of whatever his family is doing. He walks beautifully on a leash without pulling, enjoys car rides, and is the perfect passenger for any adventure. Coffee is also very food motivated and loves treats, taking them gently from your hand every time.
At bedtime, Coffee is happiest sleeping in the same room as his humans. He enjoys knowing his people are nearby and settles best when he can be close to his family.
While he does not appear to shed, we cannot guarantee that he will be suitable for homes with pet allergies.
Coffee is a gentle, loving soul who is looking for a family willing to continue showing him that life can be safe, happy, and full of love. In return, he'll reward you with endless tail wags, loyalty, companionship, and plenty of sweet kisses.
