Story
Meet Evee, this 11-year-old diva who is ready for her forever home! Evee came to us from a situation where she was living with one canine sibling and, if you can believe it, over 20 cats! Despite where she came from, Eevee is an incredibly loving and chonky girl who would make a great companion. She's pretty friendly and loves saying hi to new friends, and don't worry, that cone isn't permanent! If you have been looking for a smaller, goofy and chill tempered girl, look no further than Evee. She even comes housetrained! Evee is currently enjoying her time in a foster home and we would love to put you in touch to schedule a meet and greet. Story
Buddy is the kind of little dog that quietly works his way into your heart. He is about 2 years old, under 20 pounds, and appears to be a Chihuahua/JRT mix. Buddy used to live in a real home with his owner until his owner went to prison and he ended up dumped at a small rural shelter. It is very obvious that Buddy misses being someone’s little companion. Despite all the instability in his life, Buddy has remained an incredibly sweet and affectionate little dog. He can be shy at first, but once he settles in, he becomes very loving and attached to his people. One thing to know about Buddy is that he is sensitive to yelling, harsh energy, or movements that make him think he may be in trouble. The animal control officer suspects that the family member caring for him after his owner went to prison may have been rough with him, so now he sometimes flinches or briefly worries when someone moves toward him quickly or in a way that feels confrontational, even if they are not interacting with him directly. Outside of that, Buddy is not a nervous or unstable dog at all. He enjoys affection, likes being part of the household, and settles in nicely once he realizes he is safe. Buddy is great with other dogs and cats, even kittens. One thing that stands out about him is how balanced he is socially. He is not one of those little dogs that constantly tries to dominate bigger dogs, but he is also not fearful around them. He simply coexists peacefully and confidently. Buddy would do best in a calmer home where he can fully relax back into normal life and remember what it feels like to simply be loved and safe again. Good fit: someone patient and gentle looking for a small companion dog that wants stability, kindness, and real connection. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $500 (includes transport + vetting) Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Story
This was my mom's dog. We got him in in 2012. He was around 6-8 months old. My mother passed away in 2018, and I've tried to keep him, but as of late, we are just not home enough. More recently, we were told we have to move, and the new places we are looking at do not accept dogs. He's about 13 or 14, we aren't sure how old, honestly, as we got him from a lady on Craigslist. He was originally with 2 other dogs, but they have since passed away. He does do well with my cats, but is not a huge fan. He's lovable, wants to cuddle but a little temperamental as he's gotten older, so his being by himself in an adult home would be best. He was with other dogs but he had been with them forever. Any new dogs he was not good with. I wish I didn't have to do this, but it's our only option at this point.
