My name is Baby and after living my spring and summer years I find myself single and in search of a fur-ever relationship for my fall and winter years. Could that be with YOU?!! I'm around 8 years young and while I'm pretty chill and calm I can still get a little feisty. I love getting into the fray of a good game of chase but a snooze is in order afterwards!! I have blossomed from a scared lil girl into a happy loving gal full of life! I do well with people but would be more comfortable in a home without small kiddos. I also do well with the other pups here in my foster home but would do better in a home with other doggies more my size. I even do well with the resident kitties, wanting them to play with me! I am house trained and will go to my bed on command for naps. I love hanging out in the back yard soaking up the nice warm sunshine but I also love sitting on your lap (my favoritest place) getting all kinds of lovins! I would make a great companion for a person(s) that is retired or that works from home. At only about 8lbs I would be perfect to tag along on your everyday going on's, from co-piloting your errand runs to supervising yard work, I'm your gal!! Deja and Tater are two senior Chihuahuas who came to Pet Friends from a home with several dogs about eight years ago, after their owner died. They were adopted by a volunteer and lived in a home with several other dogs until recently, when that owner passed away. As with any of our adoptions, Pet Friends took them back and was able to find a foster home for them, where they have been living with several other Chihuahuas for the last few months. They have adjusted well to their foster family, and are now ready to find new homes where they can live out their lives being loved and pampered. Both of these sweet golden girls have mild heart conditions, which are well controlled with medication. While they have lived together for quite a long time, we feel they would do fine if adopted separately. If a small, older dog is something you are looking for, arrange to meet either Deja and Tater or both of them!

Hello, I'm Casper, a spunky little guy only 3 years young with the energy of a puppy! I'm a little pogo dog - I like to jump straight up and down when you come home. I get along fine with my foster friends, and starting to play with my favorite friend - a small dog with the same energy as me. I'm pretty good about going potty outside if you take me, but still working on it being 100 percent. I love car rides and walks and being with my person. My foster mom is ok, but I am GLUED to my foster dad - I watch to see where he is at all times and need to be with him - he's my person! I don't like the crate and get really anxious when my people leave, so will need a family that is willing to work on my separation anxiety and teaching me that a crate is not scary. TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Grandpa Lucky I have the weirdest name. What is that? "Grandpa Lucky. Sounds like I had a lot of luck in my short life, but I am not quite sure of all that. I just look like a Grandpa because I have lived outside most of the time and it is hard on a fella. I am only about 6 years old we think. First off, I was fished out of a river and taken to the city dog pound. I can't tell you how I got into the river, but foster mom suspects I had a little help with that. Well, it was lucky that I got fished out, but then I went to the city pound where I had 3 days before my time was up...literally. But then I got lucky again because foster mom saw me and just had to have me to foster so I got a ticket out of there. I was a pretty skinny dude when she got me, and it wasn't too long before she discovered that I love to eat. She noticed that I was having a little trouble walking on my back legs and that wasn't so good so when we got me checked out, it turns out that I have a little compression of my T4 to T6 vertebrae, whatever that is. Not good. But the vet lady said that nothing needed to be done for that so that was lucky. So, when I get a little tired, I hop like a bunny and the other times when I feel good, I walk like a regular dog. I had some tests done on my blood and I have worms living in my heart of all places. I am told that is not good. But it is lucky for me that foster mommy is giving me the medicines to kill those little varmints over time and not all at once. She said it is easier on me if we do it this way. Plus, it is lucky that I get the medicine in a little bit of tasty food that I love. Did I tell you I like to eat? About that, foster mommy tells me I can't gain too much weight, or it will be too hard on my joints and back and that won't be good. Aren't I lucky to have her to take care of me? The one complaint I have with foster mommy is that she doesn't have enough time to let me sleep in her lap during the day. I would like to have a lap in my new forever home and someone who will love me as much as foster mommy does. Because of the medicines that I am taking to kill the worms in my heart, we are looking for a forever home in the San Antonio area so I wouldn't have to travel so far. Besides having a lap to sleep in during the day, I want to sleep in the bed with you at night. I can't jump off the bed though but being with you all the time is what I want. This is Buddy, and he can't wait to be yours! Buddy is a sweet young Chihuahua mix that started life off as a feral, until he was caught by a sweet and loving foster. Buddy got the good life after that! Spoiled with treats and given so much love he's developed into a great dog. He's a very friendly boy and does great with pretty much everyone. He would do best in a household with an active family. Buddy does tend to bark at smaller animals so he would do best in a household that doesn't have farm animals or other small pets. Simba is an energetic and active boy who loves to give kisses and attention. He feels intimidated and barks at other dogs/animals and will yelp often so he needs someone who can handle yelping as well as continue his obedience training. I am an experienced trainer and I have been training him successfully using positive reinforcement but even though I have tried my best, my schedule does not allow for me to watch him at all times. He needs an owner with a lot of patience who is willing to work with him. It's best for him to go to a house with an experienced owner of similar hyper active small breeds. I strongly disapprove of the usage of E-collars/shock collars for training and will reject all applications who are interested in this. Thank you for reading I hope to get in touch soon.
