Story
Joey is a sweet, 5-year-old boy looking for a family to call his own. He unexpectedly found his way to our home after being dropped off, and we’ve been caring for him while searching for the perfect forever family. Joey has the sweetest personality. He is wonderful with kids, babies, and other dogs, and he absolutely loves to cuddle. He’s house-trained and has done great with our routine. At night, he sleeps comfortably in his crate, and each morning we let him out into our fenced backyard to run and play. As much as we would love to keep him, we already have 4 dogs, and we know Joey deserves a family where he can have all the love and attention he deserves. Our only goal is to find him a safe, loving home where he’ll be treated like family. There is a small rehoming fee, which simply covers the cost of listing him and helps ensure he’s going to someone who is truly committed to giving him a wonderful home.

Chicken**8 Year old Long Haired Dachshund**18.5 POUNDS**COURTESY LISTING** Chicken is being fostered in the Richmond, VA area. If you are interested in both Chicken and her companion, Fiona, please contact Jaime Morrison at jaimesmorrisonn@gmail.com or 7168125700. From a friend of the dogs: Bonded Pair Needing a Loving home Meet Fiona and Phoebe - affectionately known as Chicken. These two sweet girls are looking for a forever home together after the unexpected passing of their beloved owner. Chicken is an 8-year-old mini long-haired Dachshund with a heart full of love. She is a total snuggle bug who adores being close to her people. Though she is deaf, and mostly blind, she gets around beautifully and doesn't let it slow her down. Chicken is curious, spunky, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, children, and everyone she meets. Fiona and Chicken have spent their entire lives side by side, and their bond is unbreakable. They are seeking a loving home where they can stay together, ideally with a fenced-in yard and experienced dog owners who will give them the care and stability they deserve. Could you be the one to give this devoted pair their next chapter filled with love, comfort, and adventure? Fiona is also listed under the MOMSVA shelter on this website. Both Chicken and Fiona are UTD on shots/vaccines, spayed, and fully vetted. If you are interested in both Chicken and her companion, Fiona, please contact Jaime Morrison at jaimesmorrisonn@gmail.com or 7168125700. **COURTESY LISTING**

Story
This sweet little guy is Buddy and he is a happy go lucky 7-year,14-pound Chihuahua mix who has been with my a senior couple since he was a puppy. Due to his elderly mother's move to assisted living, this boy needs to be moved to a loving foster or forever home ASAP.   The family children have heavy personal responsibilities and illness they are dealing with and Buddy cannot join either of the homes of the daughters.  They feel backed in a corner to find him a place very soon and Critter Cavalry Rescue is dedicated to helping this innocent little happy guy find a place to share his joyful personality.   Buddy is incredibly loyal and loves being with his people. He has plenty of energy for playtime and would love a fenced yard where he can run and explore, but if you don't have a fenced yard, he also does well going for walks on a leash. He's also perfectly happy curling up beside you for a nap. He is up to date on all vaccinations and is happiest when he's spending time with the people he loves. Buddy could fit into many different types of homes. He may especially enjoy a quieter home with an older person or couple, but more than anything, he just wants a family who will love him, include him, and make him part of their lives. This is a heartbreaking decision for his mom, and the only goal is to find Buddy the safe, loving home he deserves. Buddy would do best in a home without cats as he thinks of them as a good game of chase.  While he can get along with other dogs, he tends to do best with a sweet, confident dog who won't be intimidated by his strong personality, as he can sometimes be a bit bossy with other dogs. We know there is a special person or family out there who will give him the love, companionship, and happy home he deserves.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in making this darling little guy your amazing sidekick for life.               PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 14, 2026, 6:55 pm

Story
Chihuahuas are some of the most beloved breeds in America today. Their small bodies and tender, loving souls bring the kind of affection that so many people are searching for. They don’t need much space or food, yet they give enormous companionship, loyalty, and joy. These little dogs want to be at the center of their person’s world, creating bonds that last a lifetime and leaving a legacy of love that endures even after they are gone.   Grant’s story is one of resilience and hope. He came from a home with too many dogs and not enough care, ending up in a tiny shelter in Tennessee, frightened and unsure of the world. Despite this uncertain past, Grant has a gentle heart and a sweet, affectionate nature that is shining through more every day.   Grant is a handsome 1-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with the most charming white sock “leggings” that make him truly stand out. He’s a tall little boy with a big heart, and though he can be a bit nervous at first, he is making remarkable progress in just two weeks with us. Like a child a little afraid of the dark, Grant simply needs patience, love, and gentle reassurance. Once he feels safe, he will gladly curl up in your lap, soak up attention, and shower you with affection.   He is good with other dogs, though sometimes a little bossy at first—likely a habit from his uncertain past—but he quickly backs down once he feels secure. Grant is mostly housebroken and does well in a home without a crate. He is a climber and clever little adventurer, so confining him isn’t the best idea. He thrives when allowed to move freely, and he won’t tear anything up.   Grant is a small dog with enormous potential to become a loving, devoted companion for the right person. He is ready to blossom in a home that will give him the patience and affection he deserves, one cozy, comforting day at a time.   To make Grant a part of your life, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Please include your city and state.
