Arthur is a wonderful, happy, playful and loving Doxie puppy who is good with dogs, cats, and people, and so far even chickens. He is all love and snuggles, but has a lot of energy that needs to be worked mentally and physically, and is going to make an active family very happy. Arthur will absolutely need a job, so are looking for an active family who understands enrichment, and that an adolescent pup needs appropriate boundaries. Please Note: while Arthur has so much love to give, he is a VERY active Doxie. He plays disc and runs with the big dogs. With proper training he will do amazing things and give so much, but he is not your average lap Doxie. Preference will be given to a local adopter (living within 1 hr of zip code 22974).

GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of $400.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well.
