Meet Raylan, a sweet ~12-year-old girl who has been part of our family since she was just three months old. She is a loving, gentle, and affectionate little dog. Raylan adores people, is wonderful with kids, and has spent her whole life on a farm. She’s comfortable and trustworthy around chickens, ducks, and turkeys. She also loves going on hikes and being outdoors. Raylan has no health issues and is still active and full of life. She thrives on attention and would do best with a family (or individual) who can give her the time, love, and companionship she deserves. This is an incredibly hard decision for us. We are expecting our third baby and will be moving out of state, and we simply cannot take her with us. She has been such a special part of our family for nearly 12 years, and we only want the very best for her next chapter. Meet Pete, a five month old Chihuahua mix weighing 15 pounds.Pete is a sweet young boy who came to us after being surrendered to animal control along with his siblings. His previous owner had more dogs than they were able to properly care for, and Pete is now looking for a fresh start with a family of his own.Pete is a little shy at first, but underneath that initial hesitation is a very sweet boy who just needs time, patience, and someone he can learn to trust. Once he feels comfortable, he is sure to show just how much love he has to give.One of Pete’s biggest needs right now is getting to a healthy weight. He is significantly overweight, especially for such a young dog, and helping him reach a healthy body condition sooner rather than later is important for his long-term health and quality of life. A healthy weight will help reduce the risk of joint problems and other weight-related issues and give Pete the best chance at a long, active life without unnecessary pain.Pete will need a family committed to proper nutrition, regular exercise, continued training, and routine veterinary care. With patience, consistency, and plenty of love, we believe this sweet boy can blossom into a happy, healthy companion.If you’re willing to help Pete become the best and healthiest version of himself, he would love to meet you!This pet is available for adoption on 8.7.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
