Current Location: Germantown, MD Bernie is an incredibly sweet, easygoing boy who believes life should move at a calm and comfortable pace. He is happiest stretched out in a cozy bed or curled up beside his person, enjoying a long peaceful nap. He loves being near you, enjoys being held, and offers quiet companionship without being needy. Energy and Personality Bernie is a true low energy dog. He prefers lounging and gentle moments over busy activity. Short walks and a few minutes of play with his favorite toys make him happy, then he is ready to relax again. He thrives in calm predictable spaces and does best in a quiet home where life feels steady and peaceful. Training and Behavior Bernie is house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on leash. He is responsive and easy to work with. He knows basic cues including come, stay, no, and understands his crate routine. He is a dog who wants to do well and settles easily into structure. Bernie can be protective of his toys. If someone reaches for a toy he is guarding, he may growl or snap. He also can be sensitive to outdoor noises and may growl when he hears something unfamiliar.
