Story
Hello! My name is Billie! Fostered in King William, VA. Meet Billie: A Work in Progress Looking for a Patient Champion Billie is a 1 year old, 15 pound work in progress, and she's worth every bit of patience it takes to help her blossom! This girl has come so far already and is ready to continue her journey with the right person who will take their time and believe in her. The Billie You'll Love When Billie is comfortable, she's wonderful and very affectionate. She'll let you pet her, jump up into bed ready to snuggle, and show you just how sweet and loving she can be. She's house trained and quickly picked up learning how to use a doggy door, proving she's smart and capable when given the chance. What Billie Needs Billie tends to be nervous and will bark when anyone comes in the house. She has to get comfortable with someone new slowly. She would do best in a calm home without young children who may seem unpredictable to her. She needs an adult who will take their time, be patient with her. Good News Billie will go in a crate on her own, showing she's learning to trust routines and safe spaces. She gets along well with other dogs, which could be a wonderful support system for her as she continues to gain confidence. Best Home Fit Billie needs a calm, patient adult home without children. Someone experienced with unsure dogs who understands that progress takes time and celebrates every small victory. With the right person, Billie will continue to grow into the affectionate, wonderful companion she's already showing she can be. If you're ready to be Billie's patient champion and help her write the next chapter of her story, she's waiting to meet you! Apply today!

Story
Current Location: King William, VA Meet Lorcan Lorcan is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves people and dogs alike and has a natural enthusiasm for life that is absolutely contagious. He lights up around those he cares about, whether that means romping around with his canine housemates, chasing toys, or simply soaking up attention from the people in his life. He is the kind of dog who makes friends easily and settles into a home with a warmth and ease that makes you feel like he has always been there. He has plenty of energy and loves a good play session or a chance to run, but one of Lorcan's best qualities is his ability to shift gears. He can go from zooming around to calm and relaxed, which makes him a wonderfully adaptable companion for a variety of households and lifestyles. Lorcan is housetrained and picked up on using a doggie door almost immediately, which speaks to just how smart and adaptable he is. He is also food motivated, which will make training a joy. Treats will absolutely get his attention. He does have some opinions about his kibble, but the moment he spots something coming from the kitchen, he comes running with full enthusiasm. His priorities are clear. He is not much of a barker overall, though he does have some watchdog instincts. Squirrels, deer, and the occasional slow moving utility truck will earn a vocal response from him. He is paying attention and he wants you to know it. Lorcan will use a crate and sleeps well through the night, though he is not the biggest fan of being in one. A home that can give him plenty of company and gradually work with him on crate comfort would be a great fit. Lorcan is still settling in and showing more of his personality each day. What is already clear is that he is a genuinely sweet, affectionate dog who wants to be close to his people and is ready to thrive in a loving home.

Story
Rosie is a 5-year-old Chihuahua–Dachshund mix and a sweet, low-energy girl who really enjoys her daily walks and looks forward to getting outside. In the home she is calm, quiet, and very well-mannered. She may bark briefly when new people enter, but she generally prefers to give herself a little space until she feels comfortable. Rosie can be a bit sensitive to loud or sudden noises and may take a cautious approach to unfamiliar situations on walks, sometimes preferring a little extra space from people passing by. With time and reassurance, she continues to gain confidence. Once Rosie bonds with her person, she becomes incredibly affectionate and loyal and tends to form a very strong attachment. She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality really shines. She is a smart and respectful dog—she does not chew or take things that don’t belong to her, and she does not get on furniture unless invited. She listens well and responds nicely to guidance. Rosie may bark at other dogs on walks but is easily redirected. She has not shown much interest in toys so far. She can coexist with another small dog though she does enjoy having attention from her person. She can also be a bit reserved with men initially, but she improves with patience and gentle introductions. Overall, Rosie would do best in a calm, patient home where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace. She thrives with consistency, kindness, and a peaceful environment. She would likely be happiest with a single person or a quiet couple who is home much of the time and enjoys having a devoted companion by their side. 🐾
