Story
Approximate Age: 6 years Approximate Weight: 12 lbs MANTIS is a lovely lady. She is much like an older car. She takes a little while to warm up, but once she does, she is easy going, dependable, and ready for a life-long journey. Toys are the gas in her tank...they literally make her smile. ● Very polite and respectful of other dogs and will often climb in bed with a friend at night or for a long nap. Another friendly dog in the home would be a plus to boost her confidence and be a role model. ● Uses training pads faithfully. She is smart and would likely pick up outside potty skills once she settles into her new surroundings. ● No food aggression. She is fed in her crate because there are six other dogs in her current foster home who all dine in their crates. ● Will seek attention and loves to be talked to. Not a fan of cuddling (at the present time). She is happy to rest and relax next to her humans for pets and belly rubs. ● The Universe has so much in store for Mantis. Would you like to be a part of her new life? If so, please complete and submit an adoption survey. Having been part of a hoarding situation with 100 other dogs, almost everything about living in a home with a family is new to Mantis. She is thriving and her happy personality is shining brighter every day in spite of a rough start in life. She is looking for an adopter that will give her much needed compassion, patience, and security. In return she will give you her big heart, friendship, and lots of smiles. ********************************************************************* Schedule a meet-and-greet by completing our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey. Story
Boba is an extremely sweet guy. He loves to run and play and will smother you with love. The only reason we are refining is that we recently moved across the country from a 4 bedroom house with a yard to a 1 bedroom apartment. Since, he has become very scared of all the hustle of an active community. He has never shown a single sign of aggression but he has shown some signs of anxiety and has begun licking himself raw. Hoping to find a good home for him that suites his needs as we are unable to.
